---------------------------------------------------Chapter One-------------- ---------------------------------------

Draco gasped for air as he stumbled over the roots in the Forbidden Forest, dashing through the thicket as fast as he could in order to escape the snarling growl of the beast that followed. He had much forgotten the intent that had brought him into the darkened shades of the Forbidden Forest, and now his only intent was to get out. The creature behind him continued to snarl and spit as it chased Draco to the edge of the forest, where it stopped and brooded in the shadows. "Haha! You bloody beast! Now whos the big man, eh?" Draco's arrogant air began to cloud around his little scratched and bruised body once again. "Now you best watch it before I give it to you again!" This callused taunting only made the beast all the more angry, for it placed one paw out of the brush, and its long doggish snout protruded from amidst the trees. Draco whimpered and made a run for the castle, screaming as he went.

Sirius chuckled inside, watching the blonde Malfoy dissappear inside the castle walls. A little chase was always fun. He sat back in the shadows, transforming back into the gaunt, black haired man that he had been only half an hour before. This was normal for the Animagus, for it was the only way that he could visit with his godson going unnoticed. A small smile curled on his lips as he saw Harry approaching the darkened thicket. "You know, Snuffles, Draco will blame that one on me." He chuckled slightly, pushing strands of brown out of his face. "But to see big tough man screaming like a baby was more than enough entertainment to make up for whatever trouble I get into." Sirius laughed hoarsely, rubbing lightly at his slightly sunken eyes with a haunting smile. "I wouldn't worry too much about it, Harry... The boy has been known to make up plenty of stories..."

"Yes, and most of those stories aren't really just stories."

"Only some."

Harry laughed and crawled into the thicket, plopping down next to Sirius. He pulled out a roll of newspapers... the past 3 months of the Daily Prophet to be exact, and handed them to his godfather with a grin. "Everyone is avoiding Voldemort. Which I suppose is a good thing, seeing as we wouldn't want the whole wizarding world in a panic... but it's hard to watch people go on with their normal lives when you know whats going to happen."

"Yes, Harry, but you must keep your mouth shut, understand?"

"Yes, Sirius, I understand.."

"I'll be back for you later." Sirius then stood and walked off into the brush. Harry sighed lightly and crawled out of the thicket, heading back to the Gryffindor Common Room.
