Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read, please feel free to tell me what you think in the comments.
Chapter 1: New school, New Places, New Faces.
I remember a few things about my parents, but mostly I remember thinking that my mother was the most beautiful that I had ever laid my eyes on and my father was the strongest person that I had witnessed in my life. I never go the chance to know more about them, my Uncle killed my mother and forced my father into eternal torture, of course he made sure that we were safe, after all my father was his Demon Lord named, Sparda, and the fact he fell in love with a Angel was a huge no-no in his eyes.
So he left us in Japan with an aunt and uncle of my mothers apparently who had been trying for a child of there own, they took us in thanks to my fathers conhersion of course and then he wiped there memories of him to keep us safe, in cause any of my uncles demons came looking for us, we had peace for a little while and they had a son as well names Issei. Of course if didn't work though, they found us and my poor caretakers died and their son went missing, still to this day were forced to assume that the demons got to him. We made it out though
By 'we' I mean me and my brother Virgil, were twins born from a demon and an angel so we share some similarities in strength, but you could easily tell the two of use apart, we both were tall and athletic, but where I had a bit of deeper tan, he was pale and lighter skinned, like our mother. Plus he likes to spend his time buried in books and hacking and doing a bunch of other things that I don't even know about. I spent my time chasing after women and getting into fights and working out, you know almost everything legal for a 14 year old, one thing that we do share in common is killing Demons though.

I reached up and shut off my alarm and laid in my bed with my eyes still closed, "What the hell, it was just 4 in the morning." I thought rubbing my face, I sat up and quickly looked towards my clock, it read 5:30 on the dot. Sighing I got up and started to scramble for a pair of pants, I eventually found them, but I stopped when I saw a shield that held my families crest on it and I picked it up. "Wonder what mom would say, after all its our first day of High School." I was starting to get lost picturing her face, her beautiful red hair and perfect stormy grey eyes. She was in ever sense of the word perfect to me, from her kindness and her gentle nature that I could remember, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone opening my door and my brother walked in carrying a school uniform and reading a book called, "Hacking for Dummys." I sniffed and quickly threw the shield on my bed and began putting on my pants.
"Good you're up." He looked up and gave me a half smile, "I was hoping we could leave a little early to scope out the place and take out any demons that might make it difficult for us." He closed the book and threw the uniform at me, I caught it and laughed, "I know its not something that you normally would wear, however it thought we should at least try to fit in, after all we don't want any trouble with this school." He started to walk out and I followed out behind him.
"That's fine with me and all but you've got to be kidding me with the uniforms." I looked at it and not to say as it didn't look bad, but I could tell it wasn't really my things it was a a blazer over a white, long-sleeved dress shirt with black highlights with a black ribbon on the collar, "I mean where the hell is this place?" I know that Virgil had told me before but I couldn't remember and from the looks of this thing, I could tell that it was a fancy expensive place where stuck up people love to look down on others, Virgil would be able to fit in because of his quick wit and strong social skills, me on the other hand, not so much. He and I stopped in the living room where he already head both of our school book bags (looked like binders to me) packed on the table, that when I noticed that he was already wearing the school uniform and it looked like it was made for him.
As we sat down, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, "Kuoh Academy." He said, "From what I was able to research it was originally an all girls academy until recently where the administration decided to open up for boys. After all they requested that the both of us attend." He folded the paper and looked over at me as I began to fit my way into the shirt and interrupted what I was about to say, "I know that this sounds like it super fishy, trust me. After searching through everything though, I can see the schools got a clean record, onto of that there's been no strange occurrences since I was watching on CCTV cams. Dante, this might actually be a school just trying to reach out to us." He stood up and made his way towards the bath room, I stood up and frowned, I could tell that he was getting more and more excited from the way that he was speaking about the place.
"I mean I know that you like to be a little creepy and spy and people Virgil, but that doesn't change the fact the Demons are after us and they want nothing more than to kills us." I walked in front of him and cut him off before he could go into the bathroom, he stood leaning on the door stop while I turned on the water and washed my face, "I mean I could understand why they would want you if this is legit, but dude c'mon, the place sounds all high class. Why would they want me there?" I looked over at him and saw him purse his lips and look back me with an unreadable expression he always wore.
"Dante you're grades aren't all that bad, I don't know why you always seem to complain but we can't always be on guard." He followed me as I walked out of the bathroom drying my face, "I mean sure you get into fights but it's not like you start them." I shook my head, I really hate to be a downer but I could see that he was actually excited, who knows maybe he was right, so after looking at him and seeing the silent plea in his eyes I shook my head and smiled back at him,
"So you said this was an all girls school at first right?" He smiled and laughed, hearing that He could tell that I mean that I wouldn't push on the subject anymore, we both grabbed our book bags and started out of the door, I stopped halfway and told Virgil to wait for me, went back to the room and grabbed a necklace that my mother had given me. It was the only thing that I had left of her, a Perfect Amulet, that shone a bright red, strung from some wire that I got as a present. Virgil had one as well but it was blue, just another way to show that we were similar yet different, I chuckled put it on and tucked it underneath my blazer and went out to meet with Virgil, today was going to be alright.
~AT THE SCHOOL~
As soon as we arrived I could tell that my assumption of whether of not this place was for rich, and air heads was right. As soon as we walked into the school grounds I could see a large grandiose Victorian style building with a large grass field and track and field off the side, plus this place had a few buildings behind the large main one. I inwardly sighed and looked over at Virgil, he looked at me I could tell what he was thinking, this place was for the rich and famous. He took a deep breathe and walked towards the large building I followed behind taking in all I could, I could smell Chlorine so they must have a pool, and the ground looks up to date, that must mean that this school takes care of itself.
When we got inside I could see the lockers where we were to trade our shoes for those indoor slippers or whatever, Virgil and I ignored them and went looking for the administration office, It was pretty early before school started but we wanted to be safe and check this place out before any distractions came into our path. We soon found and saw the light was on, we looked at each other shrugged and then for what ever reason Virgil stood rooted to the spot, I rolled my eyes and knocked on the door, he was about to motion for me to stop but we were soon greeted with the gruff deep booming voice.
"Come in."
Virgil hit me in the stomach and I hit him back, we both stood glaring at each other before glaring at each other until the door opened and we were soon look at a tall man, who had bloody red hair and goatee, with staunch light blue eyes, he looked like he worked out as a hobby though (kinda made me jealous) He wore a pure white suit similar to the blazer with gold trim and white slacks as well. "Who might you two be?" He said, I took note at the fact as soon as he asked that he smiled a genuine kind smile and seemed to relax his posture, "School doesn't start for another few hours, unless your looking to get ahead." He stood sideways and motioned for us to come inside of his office.
Virgil and I both looked at each other, he shook his head and walked in. I stood sizing the guy up, if this turned into a bad encounter than he would deffinatly would be trying to kill us on a whim, I think I could take him in needed to but I would much rather not. He turned his head and once again motioned for me to enter into his office, I entered and almost at once I my vision was assaulted by sunlight, the smell of lavender and a huge portrait of a beautiful lady with brown hair, I had seen that Virgil had taken a seat so I followed suit and took a teak next to him in what could have easily been a thousand dollar chair in front of what was easily an even more expensive oak brown wood desk with a cherry finish.
I guess I must of made him feel a little uncomfortable or something, because after he closed the door and sat behind his desk he cleared his throat almost immediately he asked, "So I take it you two are the new students that I was hearing about last week?" His eyes seem to shine as he spoke to us, "Otherwise I might have to guess that you are looking to get into this school, in which case I might have to let you given the fact you guys are already dressed." Before either one of us could even think to answer his question, he reached into his desk and pulled out two sheets of paper, "Let me guess, you must be Agni Hyuodou?" His eyes gazed over at Virgil with a look that a proud father would give as he handed over one paper, I mean it figures I guess, since Virgil was always the favorite between us.
"Yes sir that's me." Virgil answered with a look of suspicion in his face, "How did you know?" He took the paper form him slowly never letting his eyes leave from the mans, the man smiled and laughed in response, "You must be Issei am I right? I've heard a lot about you." His eyes seemed to look mat me like a valued piece of treasure rather than a person and I immediately felt what made Virgil on edge. On the surface you could see the kindness he was projecting but I sensed there was something else that he was hiding, something major. Rather than answer him, I took the paper and kept my eyes on him, I hadn't noticed it before but I smelled a brief scent of Brimstone and blood floating underneath the heaps of lavender in the room, I took a brief glance over at Virgil and saw that he was still on a high alert.
"Well in any case my name is, Zeoticus Gremory," He said standing up and walking around the desk in front of us, I started to feel my heart pound the closer he got, was this guy a demon? Is he here to try and off us? "I am filling in the headmaster today at Kuoh Academy." He stopped in front of us and offered a handshake, " I hope that the both of you will find this Academy to be towards your tastes and you will grow to like it." Virgil and I made eye contact and I was about to say something before he kicked me in the shins and took the mans hand.
"Thank you sir, we both are looking forward in attending." Virgil offered a equally bright and kind smile, I kind of hated how easily it came to him to do that, even if they smelled like a demon he would still put up in act till the end, "How do we find which way that our class is located? Truthfully that's why my brother and I came to school early, that way we are not a burden to anybody else." The older mans eyes brightened as he was asked and he quickly stood us up and began talking our ear off as he lead us to what I could only assume would be the classrooms.
~LATER ON~
"My name is DanteHyuodou."
After getting talked to for what felt like an eternity, I was introduced to one of the teachers who smelled heavily of booze and depression, Virgil and I split up from there as well. She introduced herself but I couldn't remember her name, so for the time being I made a mental note to call her teach, she took me to a classroom that she said I would be a good fir for on the second floor. Now when I hear that I thought that she meant the trouble kids class where I would have been in any school, now that I am standing in front of them however, I see nothing but ironed uniforms and bright faces with interested eyes and smiles, "Just what I needed." I thought, "To be stuck in the 'I'm a rich prick' class. Maybe they mixed me and Virgil up." I mentally sighed and offered the best half smile that I could.
Some of the girls gasped while the guys seemed to shy away, it was alright though I was kind of used to that, so after the teacher cleared her throat I waited to get my seat assignment, and I was told to take a seat behind a kid with short spiky brown hair, with two short locks of hair behind his head, and light brown eyes. I made my way to sit behind him and I immediately noticed that the guy was staring at me with a strange expression, I ignored it and sat behind him and did one more mental scream before I would enter into the Hell known as Kouh Academy.
The first half of the day seemed to drag on forever, and when the last bell rang I quickly made a way for the door passing by every group that tried to stop me, I knew that it was probably being rude, but I just didn't like dealing with people coming at me, I had done my best to be kind to them during the first and second and even lunch break, using Virgils 'fake a friendly attitude' but now I just needed a break.
I found my way outside and I stretched, the sunset that was greeting me from my school sentence was great and the air smelled fresh as fall. I decided that I would wait for Virgil and so I found a pole that he would easily see me from and no one else would think to look at, I was recalling my day when all of a sudden I felt the ground rumble and my ears popped.
-Daaaaante!-
I took a deep breath and looked behind me, I saw an old lady standing from the gate and pointing at me, her eyes had a blackish fluid leaking from them and her mouth hung open. I started to feel a wave of irritation sweep over me as the world around me began to shift and change, "Man what is up with you collaborators!" Ashes started to fall from the sky and people started to fade into black shades that melted into a frantic blur all around me, behind me I could here a strange sound as a Elite Stygian clawed its way through a tear in the ground its nasty blue, unbroken face with demonic horns, a toothy mouth, greeted me.
"Man I've heard of a face a mother could love, but with you I'm sure that's not the case." I walked back and forth my adrendeline surging through my body, I loosened my arms and cracked my neck, the Stygian didn't respond back it only twitched its head and made a gurgling sound before it leapt at me thrusting it blade at me, I jumped to the side and rolled out of the way, "Wait no dinner?" I asked mockingly, "Isn't it you buy dinner before you try to get inside, or do Limbos rules change everything?" It turned around and lunged at me again.
I was ready this time I sidestepped and kicked its feet out, I had to admit watching these things get back up was creepy but I needed it to stay off balance, I was looking around for something to kill this thing with, I know they we are in Limbo but I didn't want to use my Rebellion, it often attracted more attention than I wanted, and I would have more uglies to deal with. The stygian stood up and roared, or well it gurgled at me while lifting its blade behind it, I knew what was coming next so I just decided to say screw it all as a familiar weight found its way onto my back.
Right as the Stygian slammed its blade down into the ground, a hellfire rose from the cracks and raced towards me. I instinctively unsheathed Rebellion and rolled to the side again and then recovered and quickly thrust my sword towards the Stygian, although there was a lot of ground to cover I used my 'special powers' and covered the ground in the blink of an eye.
The blade made an impact on the doll-like creature and it flew backwards landing in the ground in an ungraceful heap, before it could have a chance to recover, I croutched low to the ground flipping my hand on the hilt of Rebellion and poured some of my power into the blade, "Bet you that if Virgil were to come out right now, he would give me some type of lecture." I slashed the blade at the fallen stygian and a white hot concentrated energy blade went spinning rapidly towards it, I heard a satisfying thunk but I wasn't going to take a chance at all, I swung two more times sending two more energy blades at it, when they impacted I saw the Stygian split into multiple pieces and the world of Limbo began to rumble again.
"What can I say, dolls creep me out." I smiled and sheathed my blade, I waited for the sound of buildings and the world around me to repair itself and I could go back to the real world, but the longer I waited I began to realize something else, "I've heard of secret admires peaking on someone before ya know, but never a demon." I said, I wasn't really taking it into notice before but there was a small leak of a huge power source coming from behind me, "You too afraid to say hello or what?" I asked as I looked towards a blonde kid about our age, he seemed to be observing me rather than attacking me, I held my arms out to my sides and looked around, "There has to be more, unless this is the guy who sent me here in the first place." I felt a new surge of adrendeline coursing through my body as I studied and tried to feel any other presence around me.
"I'm sorry I was actually just pacing through but I thought I heard someone yelling for help." The young man smiled a kind of regal smile, he wore the same uniform as everyone of the boys in the school and he had short blond hair, blue eyes. I could tell that he was a pretty boy too, his skin was too clear which means, that he has to be a high class demon underneath that human skin, only the high class demons would have access to pretty boys like him.
"I can see now that you can handle things on your own however." He looked over at the where the Stygian should have been, "What was that? It didn't look like a normal stray demon that I've ever seen or encountered." Who was this guy? For that matter why could I see him clearly in Limbo, I thought that Limbo was only for the Demons and well my brother and I hell trap? "I'm sorry but I also have to ask but that sword that you use, are you from the House of Sparda?"
My heart froze and I glared at him, why does he know my fathers name, "What's it to you? More importantly who are you again?" I felt my already quickening pulse speed up again, I paced back and forth, "Wait before you answer, I'm willing to bet that you are the piece of garbage Demon that dragged me into Limbo aren't you?" I raised my hand and pointed to him, "Can't have one day without you freaks bugging me huh? Ok." I turned my foot towards him and leapt at him as quickly as possible unsheathing Rebellion and pointing it at his stomach, at the speed I was going it should have been a blur but the guy managed to step back!
"I'm not sure exactly what you mean, or why you are attacking me, but sense you're doing so I'll have no choice but to show you what a Knight for the House of Gremory can do." He held out his hand and a spell circle appeared, not shortly after a broad sword appeared and he grabbed its hilt, "Gremory, where have I heard that name before." I lunged at him again, only this time I stopped a couple meters short of him and threw a million stabs at him as fast as I could, he was able to block them at first until I started to speed them up and they became to fast for him to read.
The guy gritted his teeth and jumped back before I could land a good stab on him, I was a little impressed though I had to admit. Before I had time to recover from my attack he jumped at me, aiming a stab at my gut, I wouldn't have time to side step it with how fast this guy was coming at me though, not without taking a little damage. I did my best to avoid the attack and side step, I got away with a grazed rib and planned to slash at him while he was still off balance from my last attack, however he quickly recovered and slashed at me with a quick gracefulness that I feel even Virgil would have been jealous of.
I smiled, "You're not Virgil though," I saw through his overhead slash and aimed an uppercut that connected to his chin, it caught him off guard and I could tell, while he stumbled backwards I unleashed my favorite slash combo I could pouring a little of my energy into blade the last blow. It sent him flying back into the wall, "You know I've never seen a Demon maintain his human husk as long as you." I pointed Rebellions point at him as shreds of his shirt and little specks of his blood where on the blade, "That human give its body or what?"
The boy ignored me and picked himself up, He was gripping the wounds on his chest, "Forgive me Rias, I underestimated him." He then took a deep breath and gave me the most determined look he could manage in his state, "It looks like I might die here." he ran at me with the same speed as before, I was ready for it this time though, I braced my ankles and crouched low again and poured my energy into the Rebellion, "Oh no you don't!" I new voice from the right caught me off guard as a seven balls of light raced towards me. I knew that there was no way that I could dodge both of the boy and the light at the same time so I just let my instinct take over
I jumped into the air and looked below me to see if I could see where the light came from, instead I saw the boy had also jumped into the air and came flying towards me, he aimed his sword swung at me, I wasn't able to avoid it and cursed myself as I felt the sting of metal cutting through my stomach. He must have been sour from earlier still because he kicked me down and I went flying towards the ground face first, I gritted my teeth and before I hit the ground I righted myself landing on my feet and felt my ribs ache with protest.
I didn't have time to rest as he followed behind me and slashed downward, I managed to raise my sword to block him, but then I heard footsteps running towards me from the left and my vision blurred as I felt someone's first connect with my face, "I knew there were more!" I screamed at myself, I should have been more careful. I picked myself off the ground and turned to see another boy with light brown hair and brown eyes, he also wore the same uniform as the guy with blonde hair only there was something wrong with his arm, it was all red and strange looking with a green gem in the middle, plus he had a determined look on his face that made me sick, "Oh boy look another demon scumbag." I popped my neck and glared at them.
"Kiba who is this guy?" The brown haired boy asked the blonde guy, "Why is he attacking you?" I waited and listened for more that might be joining them, I lowered Rebellion, the one named Kiba seemed to know this guys because soon as he showed up, the blondes stance went into more of a offensive. I noted that must mean that the brown haired kid would play a more defensive role, "Thanks Issei, be careful though he might be the one from the House of Sparta."
That's when I snapped a little, "Why do you keep saying that name?" I growled, "There's nothing more that you can take from us!" I felt a huge rush of power surge through me as I lunged forward and kneed the brown haired kid in the gut, I could tell that he wasn't expecting it he got fuzzy look in his face and then keeled over, Kiba or whatever his name was, jumped at me and tried to quickly aim a series of slashes at me, I parried most of them and then as he and I locked our swords I shifted my weight and let him slowly side forward and right as I was going for a head but he jumped around me and said, "Now Issei!"
-TRANSFER!-
Out of nowhere a voice exploded and the brown haired kid reached his hand out towards Kiba, his weird hand glowing and when Kiba touched it his body radiated the green aura that came out of the stone, he then charged at me even faster and started a new series of swords swings that I was able to match, "You've done for now!" Kiba screamed as he raised his sword in the air and then aimed his blade downward.
"Sword Birth!" The ground exploded as a bunch of different sword points and blade hilts came up form the ground, before I had time to react he pulled two short blades from the ground around him and came charging at me.
Then a flash of blue and yellow thunder came into my vision as time seemed to stop, almost at once my brother pushed me back his Yamato already drawn and a bolt of yellow lighting pulsed in front of Kiba, "That's enough, this battles been dragged out and I don't want my family getting hurt." Another new voice range though the air as a tall busty red head with blue eyes came floating into view along with another tall black haired women with purple eyes behind her, "I don't know who you are, but you've made a grave mistake making an enemy out of the House of Gremory."
"Listen lady." I said standing up and putting my hand on Virgils shoulder, "Or Demon scum, my brother and I have killed Devils and Demons like you for a snack. If I were you I'd run and make this a little interesting at least." I shouldered Rebellion and glared up and her, while she was a bombshell I could smell the demon off of her, and as I looked at Virgil I could tell that he was already in a pissed off mood but what he said next was pretty cool for once.
"I will make all of you rue the day you challenged the Sons of Sparda!."
Thanks everyone for reading, I know that it was a bit long but I was hoping to take a bit of a different approach to it, hope you enjoyed and please tell me how I did in the comments and let me know if you want to see more.
