Black Velvet Sky
" Aren't the star's pretty Kagome!" Shippou said as they looked at the star's. "And the full moon is out tonight too."
Kagome smiled as Shippou gazed at the stars as she had always done as a child. Her family would always go out to a secluded area with no lights and look at the stars too. Inu-Yasha looked down at them from a nearby tree, wondering what was so fastinating about the night sky.
" Did you know Shippou-chan that as you look at the stars thier light takes so long to get to your eyes a great deal of them are gone?" Kagome told him.
"Woah!, they're that far away?" He gasped looking at them with even more fastination. Even Inu-Yasha looked at the sky with suprise.
" Yes Shippou-chan, but new stars are born all the time. It's a never ending cycle." She told him "Now go in the hut with Sango-chan and Miroku- sama, it's very late."
Shippou, like any child his age tried to protest. In the middle of protesting though he let out a big yawn. Kagome giggled and shooded him to the hut. Inu-Yasha came down from the tree as soon as he left.
" So some of the stars are already out huh? That's weird that you can't even tell." Inu-Yasha commented.
Kagome nodded " Kikyou's kinda is like a dead star in a way....."
"What do you mean?"
" She's dead yet.... we see her and hear her voice. It's like a ghost, not the real thing." She wispered. Then it dawned that she had said something semi mean about Inu-Yasha's ex and she flustered.
" I'm so sorry Inu-Yasha I didn't mean...!" He put a finger to her lips to calm her. She blushed and stared at the ground. It seemed very interesting at that moment.
" It's okay Kagome.... I'm not mad. What you said makes me think about you and her. You are like a star that has just been born. If she is a dead star..... she doesn't have the right to say you can't exist. But I just can't kill her with my own hands... it would hurt too much."
Kagome nodded. Sango had the same problem with Kohaku.
" Dead stars..........." she begun " Shouldn't come back to life..... it isn't natural or right. And Inu-Yasha you are still a star burning bright also. Please don't go to hell... I would miss you too much."
Inu-Yasha looked at her with determination. How could he leave her? To hear her say something like that. Kagome yawned and hung her head on his shoulder. He smiled and picked her up on his back. He looked at the stars.
" To think that you could teach me so much." he wispered "Thank you....."
As he walked away Kikyou shook tears from her eyes as she hid behind a tree. A dying star. Like a ghost...... Inu-Yasha really thought of her that way? Well in a sense it was what she was, the dead trying to take away the life of the living. Not really existing, she was just there.
" Mabye. But he still had a spot in his heart for me and he always will. I understand now, I was never meant to be brought alive. Kagome take care of him...." Her body turned into a light figure and she wispered softly.
" I will be with you." Her body disolved into shimmers going to the stars.
The soft velvet sky..............
SA: .....Woah. I have NEVER written any thing that deep before. Or that short -_-0. Well whatever. Oh and just for a pointer. Kagome's soul goes to her not the sky. It's Kikyou's body does that. I know she wouldn't be that considerate in real life nor would Inu-Yasha think that of Kikyou, but they are being OCC.
