Prompt #1 – (TFR's Writing Prompts Number Fifty) "You have no power over me." "You sure about that?"
- Kazuma and Gyze chat. Chrono's mentioned, along with others. -
A.K.A. In which the writer struggles to write Gyze at around 12 AM (Kazuma, with less difficulty) when she should be sleeping using a glitchy pair of earphones on the left side that annoys her to no end. Enjoy!
Note: The second sentence of the prompt is modified to fit Gyze's personality.
Started: 3/25/18 - Finished: 3/25/18 (In roughly two hours too! Whoo!)
…
"You have no power over me."
He was in a blank sort of vastness. The sky, if you could call it that, was an extremely dull blue-grey, the 'floor' just a rippling white-grey, both stretching on for miles on end with no end. Nothing was there. No people. No buildings. No trees. No animals…
"At least, nothing that'll really last." He stared determinedly at glowing eyes.
Just Kazuma and the towering shadow of Gyze.
"Are you so certain about that?" His voice was echoing, resounding all around the cardfighter. Even though he refused to back down, the echo was unnerving. "With the defeat of the Singularity, I now have complete control of your- my body."
"But not me." Said Kazuma. "My body, sure. My voice, never. Even if my body's your damn puppet, I'll never give in, you can count on that."
"For now." Gyze's voice rumbled. "It shall not be a problem soon enough." At that, Kazuma felt a sharp pull in his chest, causing him to gasp in surprise and pain. It felt as if something was trying to push out whatever- everything that was 'him' and replace it… replace it with the Deity of Destruction. He took a step back as his vision briefly blurred before clearing.
The shadow shifted, moving closer to him. "It won't be long now. Until you fall silent… Until the world falls silent…"
Kazuma, recollecting himself, gave a low scoff. "Do you really think it'll be that easy? Just because you Diffrode me? Just because you beat Shin- no, Chrono?" He gave Gyze a mocking shrug. "You must be dumber than I thought- "
"SILENCE." The indigo-haired teen cried how as a burning pain filled him, falling to his knees as he struggled to breathe and just stay conscious and not give in. He just had to tick off the Deity of- freaking- Destruction. "By winning the fight, it is only a matter of time. The Singularity's future has been forfeited, the Messiah's Vanguard weak in strength. All that is left is to awaken the last of the Zeroth Dragons. I SHALL succeed in destroying your world and Cray."
"S… seriously?" Gritting his teeth, Kazuma slowly, but surely, managed to lift his gaze to where Gyze's eyes were. "Obvi… ously, you haven't met… Chrono." He gave a weak chuckle. "Even if… he lost this time… he isn't the kind of guy… to give up. He'll… He'll beat you. And your sorry bunch… of Apostles."
"And! Not… just him." Kazuma forced himself to his feet, his legs shaking from the effort it took. "Taiyou… Tokoha… Shion… Bro…" Silver eyes flashed with conviction. "Everyone! They'll never give up! They will stop you!"
"And I…" He gasped. "And I… WON'T GIVE IN TO YOU!" His voice echoed through the expanse with nearly has much power as Gyze's voice did when it spoke, his form standing tall against the shadow. There was a pause between the two, the tension almost suffocating to the cardfighter, as he fought to stay upright.
Unfortunately, being human and painfully weak in face of a Deity, it was only so long before Kazuma fell to the ground, vision blurring to nearly black from the flaming pressure he was under.
"If that is the case…" Kazuma vaguely heard Gyze. "I will crush them where they stand before they have the case to fight."
He faintly smiled, his sight finally fading to black as Gyze took full control. "We'll… see…"
'You better not lose…'
'Chrono…'
The emerald green eyes snapped to the sky above the hospital's rooftop, the sight of Cray filling most of it. A soft wind passed him, rustling his hair and clothes as he stared in surprise at the sky, the echo ringing in his ears. He stood in the same spot, before a soft smile crossed his face.
'Kazuma…' Thought Chrono. 'We'll stop Gyze. And…' He gripped his deck, promising his friend.
"We'll get you back!"
...
I lied. Chrono also appeared outside of being mentioned in this prompt. (Laughs) Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to 'Interfering Gears!'
So yeah… prompts! I figured that since it's taking me such a long time to update 'Our Fight', I thought it'd help get the ball rolling for the next chapter by doing writing prompts to help get me out of my Author's Block. (Apparently, once you get it, it isn't going away. But that's just what I'm experiencing. (Shrugs)) For the time being, they'll be short prompts, but they may get longer depending if I'm on a roll with the topic.
Also, while I'm doing prompts that I find online (coughpintrestcough), feel free to send me your own prompts via review or PM. Fair warning though, I personally believe that I'm better suited to write about the G-series characters more than the original generation, but that's because of 'Our Fight'. Keep that in mind when sending a prompt!
Oh, and one more thing. Like the summary says (If I did put it in) I'll also put in some one-shots here as well! They'll mostly involve GZ related things, but I may write some other things, not saying what. In fact, I already have one that's a work in progress, but at the rate it's going, it'll be awhile until it's done. (Sweatdrops)
(Another fair warning, I've become somewhat obsessed with 'Kazuma x Chrono' and 'Gyze!Kazuma x Chrono' and the such, so please pardon the occasional yaoi if you are not a fan of 'boy x boy'. I'll put brief summaries of each prompt at the beginning so you'll know what's in store.)
Until The Next Raid!
