The sounds of heavy boots running where heard splashing in the puddles of mud and gravel as Gilbert ran to the next hiding spot during his recon mission. He stopped and looked around occasionally between various pine trees as he quickly tried to get to where he needed to be. His breathing was shallow and quick as he ran with his H&K 33 rifle on the ready if one of those things or an enemy showed up. He hated how things turned up as of late. If Gilbert knew back then of what he knew now he could have prevented all this madness from happening.

'It is my entire damn fault, I should have done something. I promised her I would help her and I failed. I failed her, my brother, my country, the entire world.'

The thoughts of guilt ran through is Prussian mind as he heard his brother Ludwig calling him on his headpiece. Quickly he shook of his negative thoughts and focused on Ludwig on the other end. "Brother, what do you have so far?" asked Gilbert in his deep German accent.

Ludwig replied to him accordingly, "So far there are three tripods in the area, but they are far away enough to the depot to where you need to be. So how far are you?"

"I am not far now West, I can see the depot and yes I can see the top of one of the tripods now."

"Good, keep low and get to the depot, and East… be careful." said Germany in a dark and worried tone, Ludwig knew about Gilbert's feelings of guilt about this whole war and how his brother could have helped stop it before it even began. But no one saw this coming, no one did.
