-AT HIDDEN LEAF HIGH SCHOOL- -AFTERNOON- -LEAVING HIDDEN LEAF HIGH SCHOOL- -SOPHOMORE CLASS-
"Guess what, Sasuke?!" A blond-haired, blue-eyed boy runs through the school parking lot, "Sakura-chan said she'd go to prom with me next year! Isn't that great?!" The boy, known as Naruto, squeaks excitedly as he grabs his best friend, Sasuke, by the shoulders. His bright blue eyes sparkle and he has a huge smile on his face. Naruto's cheeks are dusted with pink as well.
Sasuke just stands there with a blank expression adorning his pale face. His dark hair waving around his head silently from the ongoing breeze.
"Sasuke? Did you hear me?" Naruto questions and squeezes Sasuke's shoulders, looking into his dark onyx eyes.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah. I heard you. That's great, dobe." Sasuke says slowly.
Naruto releases Sasuke's shoulders and smiles up at him.
"Who are you going with, Sasuke?" Naruto asks curiously.
"I'm not going." Sasuke replies bluntly.
"What?! Why not, teme?!" Naruto screeches and grabs Sasuke by the shoulders again, this time shaking him.
Sasuke jerks away from the frantic blond so he'll stop rattling his insides and responds, "Because I don't want to go. No one will want to go with me anyway."
"Bull crap, Sasuke! You're one of the hottest guys in school! Girls would love to go to prom with you!" Naruto jeers.
Sasuke blushes and turns his head away.
"Whatever, dobe. If I do go, I'll go alone. But I doubt I'll go in the first place." Sasuke says.
"You could go with me and Sakura-chan! You could be the third wheel! Like a tricycle!" Naruto laughs.
Sasuke's shoulders slump and his black eyes half-close. He turns from Naruto and begins walking away towards his car.
The raven calls quietly over his shoulder, "See you later, Naruto."
-AT SASUKE'S HOUSE- -NIGHT TIME-
Sasuke enters his bedroom, throwing his wallet and cell phone down on his nightstand. He then lays down sideways across his large bed, looking at his boring bedroom wall.
"Why did you lie, Naruto? Did you forget?" Sasuke speaks aloud sadly as fresh tears begin to stream down his face.
*FLASHBACK* *EARLIER THAT YEAR*
"Let's go, teme! We can go to prom together! As friends!" Naruto cheers as he bounces up and down excitedly, his wide, blue eyes shining in the light.
Sasuke half-smiles and a pink blush covers his pale cheeks. "Sounds good, dobe. We'll go together then. It'll be fun."
*FLASHBACK ENDED* *BACK TO PRESENT*
Sasuke couldn't wait to go to prom with his favorite friend, despite his cold-heartedness. It was a dream come true for Sasuke Uchiha. Especially since he has a 'man crush' on his best friend, Naruto Uzumaki.
But now, that hag Sakura Haruno has butted in and taken his dobe, HIS DOBE, away from him. And on the night Sasuke has been so looking forward to...
It's all down the drain now for Sasuke.
