First Meetings
I know that I fell for her the second I saw her selling flowers on the streets of Midgar. Okay, maybe it was infatuation at that stage but still, I couldn't deny that I had strong feelings for her. She was beautiful; I couldn't see a single flaw on that gentle face.
"Excuse me, what happened?" she asked, walking over to me with confusion. I knew she was referring to the explosion that had just happened, which I had had a part of. I couldn't help but stare. She was even more gorgeous close up, her deep eyes full of kindness and concern as she took in my blank expression. Realising what I was doing I cleared my throat and answered her.
"Nothing…hey listen," the words fell out of my mouth before I could stop them and by the way she was looking at me intently, I knew I had no choice but to continue. My eyes fell on her basket of flowers and I sheepishly scratched my head.
"You don't see many flowers around here."
She glanced down and then met my eyes again, a dazzling smile creeping across her face. She looked so proud of her flowers, I was surprised light wasn't radiating off her because she looked like an angel, surrounded by the hell of Midgar.
"Oh these?" she laughed. "They're only one gil, would you like one?"
I said yes before I had even registered my action. She smiled wider and picked out a small, white flower, holding it out to me in her delicate fingers. I felt my heartbeat soar as my fingers laced with hers, taking the plant from her. A pretty blush painted her cheeks and she lowered her eyes slightly. I reached inside my pocket, placing a five gil coin in her hand.
"Keep the change," I whispered softly as I began to walk away. I could imagine that she would be standing there, stunned by my generousity.
I made my way to Sector Seven, walking towards Tifa's bar. My mind couldn't stop picturing the gorgeous flower girl and I knew then that I was in big trouble. I just couldn't wait to meet her again. I swore to myself that day, that if I ever did meet her again, I would take her away from here and show her the world.
And I did.
