Chap. I

Los Angeles, CA. U.S. around teatime.

Letty and Amy Diaz were cousins by both their respectable fathers who were brothers and wizards. So, obviously, both Letty and Amy were witches, of a sort. Amy's mother was a muggle who had fallen in love with Amy's father, but unlike most humans finding out he was a wizard didn't change that fact.

However Letty's blood was entirely screwed up. Her Mother had been a vampire and disappeared three years after Letty's birth. Her father, like his brother, was a wizard which when put together they had Letty. A half witch, half vampire that allowed her all the strengths of a vampire but none of their weaknesses in addition to the magic a witch would have. She had the best of both worlds but she didn't see it that way. However, for the moment she was about as happy as one could get.

She and her cousin, Amy, were sitting at their favorite hang out, Poggio's Pizza Alley. Fifteen-year-old Amy was eating her gelato while humming some tune or another to herself. Letty was sixteen, had just gotten her first car and was looking through a magazine trying to decide what type of designs to order for the Civic she had just had painted a metallic midnight blue. Suddenly she let out loud snort causing Amy to look up at he cousin and stop humming the theme to Mission: Impossible 2 which they had watched just the night before.

"Que?" asked the curious fifteen-year-old. "Inquiring minds want to know."

"Mira," said Letty, handing the magazine to Amy who started laughing loudly. It was a picture making fun of the recent "Lord of the Rings" movie.

"That's too much," sighed Amy as she put the magazine down. "So are you ready for the trip, yet?"

"Sort of, I'm really gonna miss my car," Letty whined before both girls started laughing again.

"So, what's the topic today?" asked Jack looking at the cousins after handing Letty her pizza. Jack worked at the restaurant and had come to know the cousins very well.

"It's our exchange trip coming up and how much I'm gonna miss my car," said Letty before biting into her pizza.

"Yup," confirmed Amy.

"Ok well, you two better write to me cause I'll need a good laugh and you guy's making fools of your selves on your first day in," Jack paused, realizing he didn't know where they were going.

"London," Amy said.

"Right, London, well just write to me, k," he said, before going back to the front counter.

Letty and Amy shook their heads laughing and returned to thinking about their trip. They were leaving tomorrow morning on a plane bound for London, England and from there to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello there folks, Marah here, so this is the edited, version…not much to edit in the first chapter. However, I do have this to say. Yes, these characters ARE indeed Mary-Sueish but please bear in mind that this fic is five years old. Now then, being that my summer boredom has led me back to my fanfic roots I've decided to finish this. And while I am going to try and tone down my character extremities I will NOT be changing them entirely. Also, this IS an AU so bear with me. Reviews, are appreciated, especially raves and those containing constructive criticism. However, if you're one of those people who just feel the need to rant do so in your own head and not on my review board. If you decide to ignore this plea and do so anyway…well, THANKS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT! ONWARD HO!

Oh yeah….

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any thing recognizable from canon, etc. herein. Thanks!
