The Raven

There was the Princess. She was the most beautiful woman in her kingdom, her sister was not. Her twin sister whom she shared everything as a child. One day the beautiful Princess was told lies about her sister. She was told that she was a demon with powers and that she herself was the true heir. Being young and naïve she believed them. The Princess suddenly stopped playing with her sister. The sister was sad and over the years became bitter towards the Princess. She was supposed to be the heir, but because her sister had golden hair and she raven, she was exiled from the castle and called a witch, a demon. The sister turned bitter and one day, started to hear things. She heard the shadows calling to her, like she really was a demon. She ignored them, ignored them until the one day that set her off. The Princess went into town, on her fiancé's arm. She looked to her sister whom was lying in the street and spat insults. That was the last straw, her golden sister took it too far and she heard them whisper. She heard the shadows beneath her plan and led her into temptation of the sin. The sister agreed. That night she snuck into the castle courtyard to find the Princess staring out from her balcony.

"Dear Princess, the sister that once was mine do you hear my plea?" the sister said.

"I do not know you. Get out of my castle." She replied. The raven twin's eyes turned from blue to bright green. The sister left and planned more. A month later she found out the Princess was with a child. On the full moon she came into the castle courtyard to find the Princess staring out from her balcony.

"Dear sister I have heard of your child. I give you blessing, do you hear my plea?" she asked and once again she replied with:

"I am not your sister. Get out of my castle." The raven haired girl grew fangs and claws. She hid away in shadows until the Princess' child was born. A few months after, when the child could walk she returned. On the full moon the raven girl came into the castle courtyard to find the Princess staring out from her balcony.

"Dear Twin, I have seen your child and he is beautiful. I will ask but once more, do you hear my plea?" and to this she responded:

"I am not your twin. I have a child now I cannot speak to you wretch. Get out of my castle." At these final words, the raven girl grew black menacing wings. The shadows whispered to her. It was time, time for the plan. The raven girl sang, she sang to her sister's child to come to her. The golden hair followed her child and stopped him from falling this in turn, made the Princess fall. She fell down from the balcony to her death. At the sight, the raven girl paused stunned. What had she done? The shadows that had taken hold of her dropped and her eyes returned blue, her teeth and hands were now normal her wings were pitch black as the night. Instead on her sister there were white wings as she lay there bled to death. The sister fell to her knees a sudden pain in her head. It was as if she had fallen and hit the pavement instead of the Princess. She fell down and a mysterious voice sung her a sad lullaby. It was a sorrowful tune. She fell to the ground, cherry blossoms surrounded her like a tornado. And like her twin Princess she fell. She fell to her death with nowhere to land. On her back were the wings, black as night but one thing was off. They were forever stained with blood. The sister awoke to find herself unable to talk. All she did was make sounds. Her eyes widened when she realized that she was a creature not human. She was a raven. She looked around and up at the sun which made her heart ache. She was the raven and her sister was the sun.
