Hints of Red x Blue and Green x Shadow
Summary: every note counted, even the small ones. They kept them all, all the letters and cards given to one another through the entre ordeal. A few a bit descriptive and some just short and sweet. This is the story of Vio and Shadow after the four sword, told through their letters.
To my Shadow,
I am not quite sure if you can get this letter, though I am positive you are still living. You see if you were not my heart would torn in two and right now it is not because I have faith you are still alive. The only way that I can write this letter is because when Green tried to put back the four sword and it did not work. The sword itself returned to one however we did not. I am happy at this fact as you most likely are now too. Please send a letter back to me, and please tell me if you forgive me for trying to break the Dark Mirror. I really am heart-fully sorry.

Dearest Vio,
It is my highest hope you get this letter before anyone sees it for it will be a personal one. I am still living however it seems I am stuck in the Dark World. I do not know how it has gotten this way and I cannot teleport into the light world. It seems as though I can teleport small items such as this letter but I cannot teleport bigger things, like myself. I also cannot get something back once it is teleported so, if you find a black boot somewhere it is mine. On another topic, I love you. I love you and I will always forgive you Vio. I know it sounds cliché but it is very true. I understand why you did it and I do not care.

Thank you so much for the letter, it means a lot to me. I wish I could help you get here sooner and I would do anything if I could. The only idea I can offer to you is research and trial and error. By the way, I found your boot. It was on the castle roof near where I go to read, I find myself using the hidden spot to read your letters. It is now my favorite spot to daydream of you.

I am glad to know you still think of me in a romantic light, and it will prove to be well when I have figured out to return. I do dope you realize that when I return I will not hesitate to mark you mine with my bite. The first thing I will do of course is kiss the hell out of you, but that is beside the point. I hope you stay well, this end of winter coming in is very cold.

Thank you for the well wishes but I am afraid I have already caught this season's cold and it is a nasty one. It was probably caused by sneaking to the roof to read and daydream. You do not have to worry though, surprisingly enough Blue is very good at healing people I think it will make good on his new job at training the new guards. We have all gotten jobs recently thanks to the Princess, Green is proudly the guard leader and Personal Guard for Zelda and Red is the new cook assistant. I enjoy Red's job the most as he has been bringing me some very good soup that makes me feel much better. I have gotten a job as part time researcher with Shad at the library but mostly I am working on my main job of making potions. Well right now I am doing nothing since I am in bed but at least I am being fed well by Red, if not too much. I hope you can come soon, no matter how warm the bed sheets it still feels cold without you. I hope you a faring better than I am at the moment.

I hope you feel better by the time you get this. If not then I hope you are better soon. My research is slow and patience grating so I took my break to think of you and write. I had a great dream of you last night and I hope I have another one, I miss you so much! It is very good to hear that you all have jobs now as long as that Shad knows to keep his hands off you. When I return I will have to request Red make me something good, I know he certainly has the skills. Seeing Blue yell at soon-to-be-soldiers that are probably older than him would be a very amusing sight to see, and I cannot wait to see it. Do you think that Green has a fancy for the Princess? It would only seem the most logical. Anyways, I hope to find an answer soon so I can see you again.

You do not need to worry about Shad, he has confided in me that he has a small crush on Green. I find it very amusing how he stutters and blushes when near him. It reminds of when Red and Blue first started going out. It makes me smile. Thanks again for the well wishes. I am better already and very glad that the cold nip has lightened up some. It is hard to believe it is already February around the corner, makes me a bit excited! I have been working hard on creating new potions and I really ought to take a break, but it is just so fun and exhilarating when I get something right!

I enjoy reading your letters over every night, it makes me feel less lonely to imagine you are around. Sometimes I find myself thinking about something you would like and smile. Speaking of something you would like I have attached you a homegrown gift! You did not think I would forget valentine's day did you? I love you with all my heart forever and always. I hope you get this letter in time for the day, I would not want you thinking about being so lonely or that I do not care.

I adore the rose you gave me, it came right on time too! Just as woke up there it was on my dresser waiting to make my day special! You are the best Shadow I love you so, so much! I am glad to announce I have excellent news, I have successfully created a coagulating potion to stop bleeding. Well almost, I am bit afraid to try it in case it over works and stops all the blood in someone's entire body. Maybe I will try it out on an evil creature like a moblin. I also need to remind myself to buy earplugs, Red and Blue had very noisy valentine's day activities last night. So many things to do. Any luck on research on your end?

I am afraid I have had no such luck. I hope to find the answer soon. And please take a break I do not need you hurting yourself with overexertion. I am glad that my letter made it and even gladder that it was there to make to your day. I wish I could be there to make your day, maybe after more trial and error. At least the animals here are plenty for a blood source.

Nothing much has happened, Red opened a pastry shop. I visited it once to try a few things and they were very good. I especially like the doughy pastry square filled with fruit jelly! I think Red called it a 'strudel'. It must be some kind of doughnut. Anyways, do you want to know a secret Blue told me? I know you do so I will tell you. Blue is going to propose to Red! It sounds so sweet and happy. Blue also asked me to be his best man, which I am very proud to be. I wish I could bring you as a date. Maybe you will be here by the time they wed so you can. He has not asked yet, but I am certain Red will say yes. He loves him so much you know?

I smiled and spun in a circle in my tux. We had a fitting today and mine fit perfectly, if only Shadow could see it. If Blue noticed my split second of expression change he didn't say anything. He was beaming like he had just won the lottery, and in a way I guess he did. I patted him on the back and gave a real smile this time.
"Six months seems so far and close at the same time huh?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled again. Blue left me to my musings as he walked off to go check the halls one last time, being as he was technically still 'on duty'. I took off the clothes, setting them nicely on their hangers. I didn't bother to put on anything but a clean pair of silky pants and laid down on my soft bed. I looked over to normally the empty spot and jumped. There lying next to me was a teen. He has inky purple strands down past his shoulders, and feral red eyes that glowed in the darkened room. My breath hitched. "S-shadow?" he smiled and leaned over towards me. "Is it really you?" my voice softened as his placed a hand to cup my chin.
"My Precious, my love, my dearest, my Vio." He whispered "Oh how I've missed you!" and just as his letters promised he kissed me passionately. I kissed him back with much vigor. A true smiled played on my lips, and signature smirk on his own. I hugged him hard, and he hugged back.
"Oh Shadow! I love you!"
The letters continued on between them even though they hardly spent time apart. They gave each other letters for everything and anything. Trying new pastries, making new potions but the most important letter was from Shadow. This letter was given to Vio in the summer along with a special item that he would hold dearly for the rest of his life.
To the love of my life Vio,
In this letter I have written over oh so many times I have really one goal in mind to tell you. I could say a bunch of romantic things in here that would make even the best poets jealous. But I won't. The only things that are needed to say are three words, and then right after four more. My love, you are probably confused as to what I mean by four words after, but when you have read this you will know. In return I only wish for one word. I wish to know yes or no. Here are my three words:
"I love you" and now here are the four Vio, turn around.
Vio turned around, curious as what it meant. Standing behind him was Shadow whom was holding something small in his hand. The blonde gave him a questioning look. Shadow only said four words,
"Will you marry me?" He held out a finely crafted ring with a black jewel in it. And Vio gave him one word.
"Yes."
