my first ME fic so sorry if anyone is ooc or any important fact is wrong. just message me and ill fix it:) enjoy.
Disoriented doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. My lungs beg for air and I feel weak. I pulled off my helmet and found myself lying by something large. My surroundings look like a battlefield. debris from buildings scattered the streets.
Looking at the ship-sized thing one word came to mind. Reaper.
I try to sit up but my side hurts too much. I fall back with a groan and try to call for help. My throat feels incredibly dry and wetting my lips doesn't help but I do it anyway.
I called out for what seemed like hours. I needed out of this armor. It felt so dream-like. Could this really be whats happened? Once I was just in my shirt and pants I carefully looked over my wounds. Everything hurt. I checked my legs and arms for stability and a huge yellow thing appeared on my arm.
Thats right, I have an omni-tool. How could I forget?
I pushed some buttons till the screen said. CONTACTING Liara T'Soni.
I pulled myself up and picked a direction to start limping. I could see many dead people and...other dead things. I was starting to lose hope by now.
"Shepard!" Came a scared voice."Shepard! Can you hear me?!"
"This is Liara, right?" I asked.
"Thank the Goddess! Yes, my love. Where are you? Are you alright?"
"I...don't know...you said "Love?"
"Shepard?" She sounded even more worried now.
"Is that...is that who I am?"I asked." Is that my name?"
"Shepard, the signal from your omni-tool says you are close to the barricade. Stay awake and I'll send help as soon as possible."
"Everything hurts." My eyes started to tear up." I don't know whats going on and there are...things out here and dead people...Liara, whats going on?"
"Stay calm, Shepard." She replied.
"I feel kinda dizzy." I told her, stopping to lean against a wall.
"Stay with me!" She shouted." Shepard! Can you hear me? Rebecca!?"
I couldn't go on. My mind wouldn't stay focused and my eyes grew heavy.
"Damn I'm tired." I sighed and gave in.
