Go easy on me here.
I'm totally new to the whole Glee-fanfiction world. I've done plenty of Castle, and a sample of Firefly, but never this. If this doesn't live up to your expectations, then by all means, leave me a review and tell me why! I like this a lot, so please, I'd love to hear what you guys think of this.
By the way: how about that Klaine kiss in Dublin, huh?
"Daddy, I want to be a Hufflepuff."
Blaine looks over at his little girl, his brow furrowed. "Why a Hufflepuff?"
The four-year-old child smiles. "Because they're underesti-mi-mated."
Kurt can't help but smile too. Avalyn can speak remarkably well for her age, but some words just twist her tongue and he loves it.
"So, you want to be a Hufflepuff, who get bullied all the time, because people don't treat them well."
"Mhmm. And they're really nice. They never get chances."
Blaine smiles. "You wouldn't want to be a Gryffindor?"
Avalyn makes a face and shakes her head. "Nope." She pops the syllable. "They're too full of themselves. Slytherin too. And Ravenclaw's just stupid."
This makes her dads burst into a fit of laughter. Blaine ruffles the girl's long, curly black hair and kisses her forehead.
"I think you would be a very good little Hufflepuff," says Kurt, sitting down on the other side of her bed. "You're sweet…"
"You're kind…" says Blaine, silently resting his hands on her sides.
"And you'd put anyone who treated you badly in their place!"
With this, the three of them erupt into a fit of laughter as Blaine tickles their daughter and Kurt joins in. Her black curls bounce around her face as she falls back into the pillows, gasping for air. "Dad! Daddy! Stop!"
They all end up beside each other on her bed. Kurt leans forward and pulls the white duvet over the little girl's body as she closes her eyes, a smile still on her face. They watch as her thumb subconsciously moves to her mouth, and they share a silent, proud look.
She turns and looks up at Kurt. "Dad?"
"Hm?"
A sheepish look comes across her face. "Accio Hedwig."
He smiles and reaches behind him, grabbing the plush snowy owl that she's asked for. Her whole life she's had the owl, and it's her best friend. He and Blaine find her in her room constantly, telling the owl about her day and petting it. It sits at the table at dinner and goes to school and on excursions. Their daughter is, essentially, a Potterhead. And they adore her for it.
He gives her the owl and she settles down into the sheets. Clicking off her lamp, he wraps his arms around her and cuddles up behind her. Blaine does the same, grasping Kurt's hand in the process.
Blaine leans down and kisses his little girl's forehead. "Night, kiddo."
"Night Daddy."
And they stay like that until the sun comes up.
