Chapter 1: The Legend
It was a beautiful evening, typical for this time of year in the feudal era.
"Master, Master InuYasha please wait for me!" a tiny voice called out. InuYasha
spun around just in time for Myoga, the flea demon to land on his face and drop
to his shoulder.
"Wow, Myoga not gonna try to bite me today?" InuYasha asked almost jokingly.
"Master InuYasha, we do not have the time for such trivial desires..." Myoga stated
with a bitter harsh tone. about this time Kagome walked next to them.
"Myoga, what's wrong?" Kagome asked with genuine worry in her voice.
"Master InuYasha, Lady Kagome I must warn you that a great calamity is about to
befall our land I'm afraid." Myoga stated in a serious tone.
"Why do you think that Myoga?" Kagome asked. InuYasha just grunted.
"Myoga, what ever your calamity is I'm sure we can handle it. So, go
ahead and tell us about this great danger." InuYasha stated over-confidently
as normal. Myoga took a deep breath and exhaled.
"I'm afraid Naraku has travelled to the continent. This is a very bad situation."
Myoga stated almost emotionlessly. InuYasha and Kagome both just stared at him in
silence. Finally, Kagome broke the silence.
"Myoga, I'm sorry but I don't see how that is a calamity. I see it as a time
to plan and recover." She stated in a positive tone. Myoga shook his head vigorously.
"No, Lady Kagome. Naraku going over there is terrible. If Naraku angers him, he will
kill him..." Myoga stated coldly. InuYasha picked the flea up and looked at him
strangely.
"Myoga, did you go meet up with the Master of Potions and get drunk...again? If anyone
kills Naraku it'll be. Besides me and maybe Sesshomaru I highly doubt any other demon
could kill him. Besides, if the mystery man did kill Naraku and defy me my revenge. Well,
I'd just kill him instead." InuYasha grinned smugly. This time Myoga jumped up and tried
to smack InuYasha, he then landed in his hand. In response InuYasha just squeezed him
between his index finger and his thumb. About this time they heard a scream of pain coming
from the camp site. InuYasha quickly picked Kagome off and darted in that direction.
"Damn that sounded like Miroku!" He exclaimed angrily. Kagome was too worried to say anything.
They arrive at the camp site only to see Sango and Shippo huddled around a sitting Miroku. The
two ran over to their friends. Kagome asked the obvious question.
"Why did you scream, Miroku?" Her tone sounded like confusion. He simply looked up.
"Lady Kagome...InuYasha, did you do it?" He asked calmly.
"Did we do what?" InuYasha asked sarcastically. Miroku held his hand up and opened it.
:The wind tunnel has disappeared. Did you guys kill Naraku?" He asked in a solemn tone.
"Miroku...no we didn't...then who did?" Kagome quickly turned around and yelled for Myoga.
"Hey, Myoga can you tell us more about this guy from the continent?" Kagome asked the old
flea demon. Myoga sat in Kagome's hands with a hot cup of tea.
"I, myself have never seen or met this man...nor do I want to. Legend tells of a great war
between Humans and demons that took place 3 years ago. They say the humans were losing the war
and were about to be defeated...when out of the flames of a burning village walked a man. They
say this man single-handedly defeated all the attacking demon the night. They say he used a sword
much like Tetsuiaga. They say the priest and priestess' talk of his massive demonic energy. No-one
knows why he sided with the humans if he truly was a demon. The only information they got from him
when they attempted to thank him was his name. They say his name is Shadow. The humans that witnessed
the battle that night gave him a new name though. They called him 'The Assassin'. They also said he had
helped the humans in every battle after that until eventually the demons stopped attacking. They also
say during those battles he got covered in so much blood that his hair has become permanently dyed red.
The scariest thing is they say he wields a great demon sword." Myoga exhaled and sighed.
"Now, I fear Naraku may of angered him, bringing his wrath to us..." Myoga quickly gasped. InuYasha
withdrew Tetsuiaga and spun around to see his brother Sesshomaru standing there. InuYasha growled at
his elder brother.
"What do you want, Sesshomaru?" He glared at his brother. Sesshomaru calmed walked to his brother.
"It seems we have a problem to deal with little brother. I heard Myoga's story and I'm here to tell you
we must work together to kill this demon." He stated coldly. InuYasha just stared at his brother and put
his sword back in the sheathe.
"Did you just ask me for help Sesshomaru?" InuYasha asked puzzled.
