A/N: Sorry for those of you who are waiting on an update for altered beginnings I'm having major writers block with it, in the meantime I hope you enjoy this.

My Dear sister,

What a week this has been. It hardly seems two minutes since I said goodbye to you, I have been so busy that my first week in Derbyshire has flown by. My husband sits across from me as I write, wearing the most serious and sombre expression I have seen on him since the wedding. I am rather glad that letters of business fall to his lot rather than mine, I should hate to have any letters of mine put such an expression on my face. Any way I digress, as I hope you can tell I am well and blissfully happy, the journey went quite smoothly but I seem to have lost one of my new shawls in transit. I may have left it in London but I plan on mentioning it to Mamma when I write to ask if I left it at home Longbourn. It seems strange to think that I shall never call Longbourn home again now, though I must not complain too much, for I should rather never be able to step foot there again than have had to marry Mr Collins.

I cannot wait for you to see Pemberley; it is a truly beautiful house though I must confess I have gotten lost on more than one occasion this week so perhaps it is a little too large. The maids will soon tire of giving me directions I'm sure. My ramblings about the house have provided at least one good thing, I found the most delightful little sitting room on the first floor. It is not as grand as some of the rooms here but it has the most beautiful view, if I were more artistic I might try to capture it's beauty in a little study to send you. But alas my only talents are for walking and witty conversation which in this case neither prove to be very useful.

Fitzwilliam sends he regards to you both and says you are welcome to visit any time, it seems he has finished with his letters and is now regarding me most intently. I fear I am becoming rather distracted dear Jane and feel I must sign off this letter quickly. I hope to hear from you soon with good news of wedded bliss to rival my own.

Yours etc.

E. Darcy

p.s. I'm glad I ignored Mamma during her talk to us on the night before the wedding, I'm finding my 'wifely duties' terrific fun!
