Let us take a walk down a cozy, fairy like story. Where knights fought dragons, and Kings and Queens, and yes, even mutants were among the land. Follow along, as we take a trip back in history, with...minor twists.
~
"Damn it all..!" The fighter hissed in pain, as he was thrown to the ground.
"What's the matter, mutey*? Had enough yet?!" The larger, knight spat at the mutant that he recently hit to the ground.
This angered the mutant, as he stood up to face the man. He growled in anger, before crying out and swinging his fist into the man. The knight did not expect this, and was late to react, as he was now the one being thrown to the ground. He instantly shot up though, as the two dueled once more. "I'm just getting started..." The mutant snarled sarcastically, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.
It soon started to rain, causing the ground to become wet and muddy, difficult for both fighters to keep their stances. Eventually, the knight had gained the upper hand, and struck the mutant down. He kicked the mutant in his side, before another knight came on the scene. He looked like a mutant under all that armor...
"Enough Casey, have you no honor?!" The mutant-knight roared, dragging his comrade away from the beaten fighter on the ground. The knight known as Casey, grunted, before leaving. The mutant-knight, however, stayed. He helped the wounded warrior up.
"Are you alright?" He asked, slipping off his helmet to reveal he was in fact a mutant. He also bore a blue mask. Probably for personal reasons.
The warrior grunted as response, spitting toward the ground as he crossed his arms over his chest, ignoring the mud that covered his shell and plastron*.
"I've 'ad worse..." Was all he said, with a hard raspy accent.
The knight then noticed this mutant was a mutant turtle as well. They were a like! "Your plastron is cracked, sir...And you're forming a black eye. Come with me, I can treat you, we can-" The knight only tried to be kind, but the fighter was stubborn.
"I said I was fine! 'Sides, why do you care, eh?" He burst. As he talked, he slipped a red sash off of his belt, along with a small dagger. He cut holes into the sash, placing the dagger back in his belt, and bore the sash as a mask, just as the knight did with his own blue one.
"I...I don't. I'm a knight and I am honor bound. With out honor, I have nothing." The knight covered, seeing he really was not wanted.
"Whateva, Fearless." The fighter waved him off. He then decided he should probably let up some, so he made small talk. "What's ya name anyways?"
"I am Leonardo the knight, of the Hamato clan." prided himself on his descendant from one of the few royal families. Many people were from this clan, but Leonardo never really met any. Just a few.
The fighter nodded as response. "Well, I'm goin' to go get me a drink..!" He then brushed passed the knight, leaving him a bit stunned. Leonardo stared, stunned a moment, before frowning, deciding weather or not he should go in. Moments later, he decided to go inside the pub, and get out of the rain.
He ran inside, searching the retched place for the fighter. Looking toward the bar, he spotted him, a glass of whiskey in his palm. Leonardo strided over to him, plopping down in the seat next to him. The fighter glanced at him from the corner of his eye, taking another long swig of his drink, before Leonardo spoke up. "I didn't catch your name, sir..."
The fighter smirked, expecting such a thing from the knight. He then introduced himself. "Name's Raphael, also, from the Hamato clan." He bowed mockingly. This surely surprised Leonardo.
"How are you," Leonardo referred to Raphael and his farmer look. He was obviously of a poor family, and looked like the kind of guy that just got drunk every night. "of a clan such as my own..?!" He finished, referring to his own rich, healthy self.
"Dunno, but I do know one thing," Raphael looked up to the knight. "that they're's more o 'dem out." He finished off his drink.
"What do you mean?" Leonardo was puzzled.
"That there's more mutants in the Hamato clan that ya think...And I plan on finding a few o 'em."
"And do what, exactly?"
"Make a rebel army, against that tyrant Shredder who has done nothing but kill innocent lives..! And yet, our King Splinter does nothing..." Oh, so he was one of those kinds of rebel fighters.
"I assure you, the rest of the knights and I have it under control. We're doing everything in our power to stop Shredder and take down his Queen, the Purple Dragon."
Raphael snorted at the knight's bravery, but his own plan had better chances of defeating the tyrant, then King Splinter's idea of sending knights out to their inevitable doom. "Thanks, 'ole Fearless knight'..!" Raphael chuckled, before continuing. "Trust me on this, my plan is of more use than Spinta's."
Leonardo thought deeply on this. He had to admit, Raphael's plan did seem more reasonable, but he would never go against orders of his own King! He just couldn't! But something told him, Raphael was right.
"Tell you what, Sir Raphael, I'll help you along your journey and quest." He smiled at the fighter, as he nearly choked on his own breath.
"Thou serious?!" He was astonished by this knight and his will. Leonardo nodded as answer. "This doesn't make us friend, you must know..." Raphael quickly added, having trust issues with knights.
Leonardo caught on, and wanting to really be friends with Raphael, he motioned the bartender, before speaking to Raphael. "How 'bout I buy you a drink?"
Raphael smirked, before firmly shaking Leonardo's hand. "Ah hell, we're way passed friends, mate, we're practically brothers!" He laughed, as the bartender came back with a drink for each of them. Leonardo laughed along with Raphael.
Raphael clinked their glasses together, before chugging his own drink down. Leonardo wasn't much of a drinker, so he slowly drank his. "So...explain the plan once more to me..?" He awkwardly as asked.
Raphael slammed his glass down on the bar, the glass empty, as he wiped at his mouth with the back of his wrist. He sighed, before talking. "We musn't speak of it so openly 'ere, but somewhere secluded...Follow me." He lightly spoke.
Leonardo was confused, but soon followed Raphael out the pub, and walked with him down the streets. "Where are we going?!" He whispered.
"My own abode*." Raphael grunted, the two now walking through the markets.
"Why?" He pushed.
"It's out of reach from civilization, more private, where we can speak of the plan with out having to worry about getting our throats slit." Raphael explained. As the two walked through the markets, Raphael snatched an apple off of one of the stands, the owner not noticing. Leonardo noticed his actions of thievery, and quickly through down a couple of shillings* on the apple stand for the owner. Raphael rolled his eyes as he bit into his stolen apple.
The two continued to walk, when a large, dangerous looking mutant got in their way. Leonardo stood behind Raphael, as he looked up at the angry fellow blocking their way. Raphael finished his apple now, throwing the core of it to the side, before placing his hands on his belt, looking up with a smirk to the large mutant.
"Fancy meetin' ya here, Slash." He greeted.
"Where's my money, Raphael?" Slash snarled out.
"What, c'mon Slash, can't a guy say 'ello without getting hassled about 'is taxes?" Raphael grinned. "'Sides, s'not like I need to pay now, I've got 'till the fifteenth, remember?"
"It's the twenty fifth, Raphael!" Slash roared, lifting Raphael up in the air by his collar, spitting in his face as he talked.
Raphael choked, as he tried to speak. "Gah, jus' give me 'till the end of this week, I'll pay up..!" He coughed, clawing at Slash's hands.
"I've given you over a week already!" Slash roared.
"And so you're going to give me another week..?" Raphael tried.
Slash, completely angered by this, punched Raphael across the face, before dropping him to the ground in heap, next to Leonardo. "Three more days, Raphael...And don't even THINK about leaving town, or else I'm comin' for ya myself..!" He growled, before walking off.
Raphael coughed a moment before standing up and kept walking. "What was all that about?!" Leonardo asked, shocked.
"Let's jus' say I owe a lot of money, to a lot of people..." Raphael replied, running a hand along his now bruised jaw, as the two continued to walk.
"Hi Raphie~" "Hey Raph!" "Long time no see, big boy~" "Mmm, greetings Raph. " Many women cooed and greeted as Leonardo and Raphael walked by them. Raphael smirked, waving toward the girls. They all laughed and giggled, as they waved back.
"'Raph', 'Raphie'? What-Who are they..?" Leonardo questioned, utterly confused by the many women cooing and flirting with Raphael.
"Them's only a couple of the many name I got 'round 'ere...And the women, they're prostitutes." Raphael shrugged. "By the way, just call me Raph for sake of savin' time, and I'll call ya...Leo." Raph stated.
Leonardo took a minute, but he soon agreed. Some time later, and the two made it to Raphael's home. Upon walking in, Leo took notice of Raph's small home. The living room wasn't much. Just a small fur couch, along with a wooden table. The kitchen also had a table, as it lingered with alcohol and whiskey bottles, maybe some rum too. Leo wrinkled his snout up in disgust of all the alcohol.
Leo was told to wait in the living room, as Raph ran to what Leo assumed was his room. Raph soon came back out, multiple scrolls in hand, along with a small flask. He sat down next to Leo, unfolding a couple of scrolls on the table, before slamming his hand down on one, catching Leo's attention.
"Ok," Raph took a long swig of the rum in his flask, the alcohol burning his throat. "this prophecy says, that they'res four elemental princesses amongst these lands." He briefly explained, showing Leo a map of the land. "Now, many people 'ave searched 'igh and low for these girls, but with no luck. Prophesy says that once all four princesses are brought together as a team, they can defeat anything or one, with their elemental powers." Raph explained. "There's also a rumor, that if they find their one true love, he will have elemental powers as well. Technically, he would'ave already 'ad these powers, jus' never put into full use, ya know?"
Leo was shocked by all of this. He sat and thought a moment, before briefly looking over all the scrolls and maps and finally back to Raph. "Eh, Raph...This is interesting and all, but it all seems like an old wives tale..!" He exclaimed.
"I assure you, it ain't no wives tale! I know, 'cause one o 'em elemental gals gave this to me, 'erself!" Raph replied, showing Leo another map he had. It was a map of the land, but with four 'X's placed on a different locations on it. One was over King Splinter's castle, the other on a pub toward the North side, another one on the forest, the last on the dungeon.
"Raph, say that all of this was true, how would finding these women help us defeat Shredder and his mate, Purple Dragon?" Leo asked.
"It 'elps, cause these fine dames got magic powers..! Ya know, like wizards stuff, 'cept they're powers are already inside o 'em." Raph replied, almost excited about finding these princesses. "All we need for taking out Shredder and all of 'em baddies, is more mutants from our clan, and 'dem dames to 'elp us. I know it all sounds crazy, but trust me on this, I know this whole plan can work..!" Raph almost pleaded.
Leo thought a moment. Raphael was right, this idea was completely crazy!...But, this all didn't seem like something you could make up, maybe, just maybe, Raph was right in all this.
"Alright Sir Raphael, I'll help you find a team, and the elemental princesses." Leo finally gave in. Anything to defeat Shredder and his clan!
"A'ight then, let's round up a team then! Not to mention, tha gal that gave me these scrolls is located," Raph traced his finger over the map before stopping on the X over the pub. "Right 'ere! She is Princess April, the first of these four dames we're gonna find."
Leo smiled in return of Raph's confidence. "We should find a Wizard, along with a magical Elf, to help us in this quest. Think about it, a Knight, Warrior/Viking, a Wizard and an Elf along with the four elemental princesses. It would be a remarkable team, don't you think?" Leo explained.
Raph seemed to think about Leonardo's words a moment, before replying, "Alright, ya 'ave yaself a deal..!" Raphael smirked, before placing the map in his belt, and the two left his small farm house, to go in search of a team.
...
"So why'd we have to keep quiet and speak of this plan in your home?" Leo finally asked the question on his mind.
"'Ad the scrolls and maps there, also them princesses aren't somethin' ya talk about all willy nilly...Plus I was outta whiskey, needed a refuel." Raph explained.
Leo snorted, chuckling with his comrade. Oh, this was going to be a long journey...
