Chapter 1: From the Start
Faramir Took arrived early one morning in April, and Thain Peregrin and his wife, Diamond, couldn't have been happier. He was a healthy little hobbit, with his mother's clear blue eyes, but besides that, Faramir was an exact copy of Peregrin.
A couple of months afterwards, Mistress Rose was proud to say she would be having Mayor Samwise's sixth child soon. They had a little lass with large hazel eyes and golden curls. She was called Goldilocks Gamgee.
Faramir was already a toddler and Goldilocks was learning to crawl when they first met eye to eye. Master Meriadoc had decided to get together once again with his old friends on September 22, just to remember the old times with Frodo, and Estella believed it would be a wonderful idea for all the children to get together.
Faramir seemed pleased to be in company of his cousin, Eomac Brandybuck; and both of them squeaked with delight as Merry and Pippin Gamgee tottered up to them when the Gamgees arrived to Buckland.
It was then that Pippin had picked up his son and walked up to Rose, who was holding the newest addition to the family in her arms. They placed the children on the floor, and the families watched as the two stared at each other for a long moment. Faramir's head tilted a bit to the side, a look of mingled curiosity and interest in his face. He smiled cheerfully, but then was taken aback when Goldilocks did something she had never done before:
Goldilocks took one look at Faramir, shuddered softly, and screamed.
