A/N: I'm not sure where this fic will go, but I'm pretty excited about it!

If you could only see the beast you've made of me

I held it in but now it seems you've set it running free

Carmilla

Each time my feet touched the ground, I could hear the crunch of the leaves. It didn't matter how loud it normally would be for a human because I wasn't one. It was just a game that you play with your prey.

Allow them to run as far as they could go until they can run no more. That's what Laura Hollis was, prey and I hoped that she begged for her life because it makes the blood all the more sweeter.

Laura

This wasn't like Carmilla Karnstein at all. One moment, she was my loving girlfriend, and the next, she was this bloodthirsty creature that people wrote myths about. Her eyes were no longer those beautiful brown eyes. They were black as the nightless sky and it honestly terrified me.

"Run Laura! You better run and pray that I don't catch you."

So I ran as fast as I could far away from Silas University, far away from everything that I knew, far away from the woman that I love.

Carmilla

Something had changed, had taken over, and it wasn't something that I enjoyed. One minute, Laura and I were lying on a blanket and looking up at the stars and the next, I was telling Laura something that I would never tell her.

"Run Laura! You better run and pray that I don't catch you."

She ran away from me like I was a monster, like the Vlad The Impaler. I wasn't one and she knew that. But in this very moment, I felt like I was a monster.

Laura

I couldn't hear her chasing after me, but I knew that she was. She wasn't the type to just threaten you and leave it at that. I knew that whatever she said in that moment was something that she would put into action.

I would never consider my girlfriend a monster, not even now. She wasn't herself and even if she did monstrous things, she still wasn't going to be one.

I was blindly running through the woods and felt the branches cutting and scraping my face. It hurt along with the cold wind that was biting into my skin. I didn't care how much pain I was in because I had to keep running.

Carmilla

I could smell blood in the air and I decided to increase my speed and was easily avoiding the branches. The wind felt like nothing to me when it came to hunting Laura down.

I felt my fangs come out the moment that I could smell her blood and I stopped for a moment to taste it. It was like someone tasting wine and it was so sweet. I tried to not allow this to distract me as I continued onward.

Laura

I finally had reached the end and had stopped myself before I ran off the cliff. I could hear the rocks fall down to the bottom and knew that if I had fell over, it would crush every bone in my body.

I was preparing myself for whatever would come.

Carmilla

"You can't run anymore, Laura. You're mine."

I was taking my time walking towards her, as if taunting her.

She knew that she was powerless against me and that was how I liked her to be.

I wanted her to feel like an animal that had her back against a wall, to feel like there was no way out.

Laura

"One more step forward and I jump."

She knew that I didn't really mean it and that my threats were really empty.

She took another step forward as if to test me and I remained still, like a deer frozen in the headlights.

Carmilla

I saw that she was frozen and took my chance to knock her down. I felt my fangs pierce her and latched on, draining as much of her sweet blood as I could without killing her.

The more I drank, the more powerful I felt. Her blood didn't actually give me any benefit except that it tasted delicious, like a virgin sacrifice.
