Kodocha Western
Chapter 1
The sun was bright on a Monday afternoon as a carriage drawn by a brown horse trotted through the desert toward a town. Inside, a man was enjoying a nice drink while watching the barren scenery pass by. He was a wealthy man with a black mustache and salt and pepper hair. He was on his way back to town after making it big at the casino in the next town over.
As he relaxed,he heard the sound of galloping horses. The man looked out his back window and saw two horses coming at his carriage. One was a brown color and the other a white one. The man couldn't make out the riders' faces.
The horses got closer and then split up. The brown one to the left of the carriage, the white to the right. The man heard a snap and the carriage began to slow down. As the carriage stopped, the door opened and what looked to the man to be a teenage boy stood in the door frame. He had dirty blond hair and a black bandanna over his nose, mouth and chin. He wore a worn out brown shirt and new looking gray pants. His eyes appeared to be a light brown color.
As the man reached for the gun that he kept on a built-in table next to him,the boy pulled one out from his holster.
"What do you want?" the man asked. The boy threw a piece of paper at the man. He picked it up and read what was written on it. 'Valuables'.
The man pointed to a brown box. The boy picked it up with his left hand as he kept his gun in his right. He backed out the carriage and walked out of sight.
The man heard the two horses ride away. He climbed out and saw why the carriage stopped. One of the thieves had broken the wooden piece of the carriage that connected it to the horses. After which, the carriage had no other form of movement.
Looking up toward the town, the man watched as the horses' dust trails settled. He was astounded that those two boys had robbed him blind without saying a word.
A girl was walking down the street as the town's clock tower chimed two o'clock. She had long orange-brown hair and brown eyes. Her boots kicked up dirt as she picked up speed. Her name was Sana, and she was in a hurry.
Sana was the entertainment at the saloon near the center of town. She was their singer. She was hurrying because it was almost time for her afternoon show, and she was almost late...again.
She entered the saloon and saw Rei,the owner, bartender, and friend of Sana's. He was a tall gentlemen who looked to be in his late twenties. His hair was a light brown color and he wore black tinted glasses over his brown eyes. He was dressed in his bar tending suit with a beige vest over a long-sleeved,white,button down shirt. He wore black pants too, but no one could see them as the bar was blocking them from view.
After greeting him, Sana went backstage to get changed. Sana put on a gorgeous pink and red dress and applied her make-up. Getting nervous again, she took several deep breathes to calm down. All ready, she headed to center stage and waited for the curtain to rise any minute.
Two young men rode into town. They stopped their horses in front of the town's saloon. They both appeared to be in their late teens. The on the brown horse wore large glasses on his brown eyes and had dark,ear-length,brown hair. He wore a long-sleeved,button down shirt that was a light gray color. His pants were a light brown color.
The boy on the white horse had dirty blond hair and light brown eyes. He wore a plain look on his face. As he climbed off his horse, he turned to his companion.
"Tsuyoshi." he said with an expressionless face. "You thirsty?"
Tsuyoshi climbed off his horse. "Are you sure we should be stopping here, Akito?"
"Why not? It closest." Akito said.
"Well, you're right about that. But-"
Tsuyoshi was cut off by Akito walking passed him into the saloon. With a defeated sigh, he followed him in.
He found Akito sitting at a stool at the bar. Tsuyoshi walked up to him and sat down.
"What can I get you fellas today?" asked the bartender. Akito and Tsuyoshi ordered their drinks and drank them down when they arrived. They ordered two more and Tsuyoshi turned to look at the stage.
The red velvet looking curtains rose to reveal a beautiful young girl with long orange-brown hair. She was wearing the most beautiful dress Tsuyoshi had ever seen. Pink and red, and sparkled when she moved.
Akito barely paid any attention. As the girl on stage started singing, Akito's ears perked up. Her voice matched her face, beautiful. She sang a song about waiting for her loved one who was away, but promised to come back.
As she sang,no one spoke. The entire saloon watched in awe as the angelic being sang words of beauty. When she had finished, the room exploded with applause. Tsuyoshi stood and clapped along with everyone else. Akito was as speechless as ever, but for a different reason this time.
