Introduction
Twenty miles from Hartfield laid a fairly medium sized town, Salem. It was established in 1802 and was mostly known for the legendary feud. The two powerful families clashed heads more than once in the town. The people in between, Horton/Brady/Roberts and many others, tried to stay out of it. Keyword: tried. Usually, there was some star-crossed love story (i.e. Sami Brady and EJ DiMera) and marriages (i.e. Kate Roberts and Victor Kiriakis). There were many attempts to end the feud, but none stuck.
Many of the residents took a side or left. The feud was either on "hold", a truce, or gone completely (i.e. 1948), but something/someone started it back up. But the families banded together when someone tried to destroy their families, and that's exactly what they would do this year. Too bad it took a couple of people to die, leave, and marry, before they banded.
Gabi Hernandez smiled as Avon took another picture. She couldn't believe that she was the model for Countess Wilhelmina. Her boyfriend's ex-wife and a DiMera, Sami, pulled some connections. Luckily, Kate Roberts approved of her, but there was a down side. Gabi had to work only with CW for a year, with no other appears anywhere. She was usually paired with Will, but today was paired with Michael Cavanaugh. Will took the day off in order to spend it with his girlfriend, Mia McCormick, who was turning nineteen today. Sure, it was known that Gabi had a crush, maybe obsession, on Will. But it had faded away, as did her relationship with Chad. There was no spark.
Hello, Doctor Johnson, Gabi answered breathless.
Gabi, are you alright? Doctor Kayla Johnson replied, when she heard the young girl breathing.
Yeah, I just left my phone in the dressing room, Gabi said as started to breathe normally.
Alright, Kayla said with a chuckle and continued, I have your results.
Okay, deep breathe in and out, can you tell me over the phone?
I would like to tell you in person, Kayla said as she stared at the piece of paper with Mary Smith on top.
Sure, give me thirty minutes? Gabi asked and Kayla said sure. Gabi hanged up, put on her "street clothes", grabbed her items, and left. She made it to the hospital with two minutes to spare, and went inside. After, Kayla finished talking to her, Gabi just sat there thinking. How could this happen?
Gabi grabbed her phone and dialed the only person, and one time crush, she could trust. It rang twice before; she realized that Mia's birthday party was happening.
"I'm pregnant," Gabi told Will in a quiet voice, in the background Happy Birthday Mia! was heard.
