Chap: 1. Introduction

Chances POV:

I hopped down the steps of my schools bus and brushed a few stands of my brown hair out of my eyes. Ugh, another day of South Campus. Also called Juvie they just call it South Campus to make people think we aren't, completely bad. Why was I in Juvie you ask? Well I'm a little bit of a compulsive liar but hey! We're getting off on the wrong foot. You see I'm special, me and my five other friends. We have things other kids could only dream of having. Wings. That's right. But to tell my story fully I should give you some back ground information on me. So I'll start from the very beginning.

It was a hot, and I mean hot August day. I was walking down the streets with my three best friends, and partners in crime. Dawn and Hope flanked me on each side, and Destiny walked slowly along beside Dawn. My names Chance by the way, Chance Rivers.

"Red one!" Hope called out giving me a hard punch in the arm as a red Volkswagen Beetle drove down the street; if my hands weren't full with text books I would have punched her back. I turned my head to give her the best death glare I could conger up.

"Why don't you hit someone besides me for once?" I asked my voice stiff with fake anger. I could never be mad at Hope I've known her since 4th grade.

"Because," She said, the sun gleamed brightly off her jet black hair. "You're the shortest one here; everyone knows the shortest get the most punches!" She laughed her silvery blue eyes lighting up as she did.

I just shrugged, she was right I was the shortest but only by a couple inches. Actually Dawn and I were the only ones who hadn't dyed our hair completely. Except for the blue streak I put in my hair last night just for fun. Dawn was a red-head through and through, she was the 'leader' I guess you could say.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome to South Campus." Destiny said unenthusiastically as we approached the school.

I sighed; we wouldn't have ended up going to this lame-o place if we hadn't stolen that car a couple weeks earlier. Or at least attempted to steal it we got caught. Lucky enough I was able to lie to the cops about our reasons to take the car and we weren't charged any community service or worse jail time, thank god. Being a compulsive liar comes in handy sometimes.

See all four of us each have, as I like to call them, skills. Dawn is the best thief anyone could have ever dreamed of. (Note to self always watch your wallet around her she might take it.) Hope is the greatest con artist alive and well Destiny could be the world's best serial killer if she put her mind to it.

Basically together we were one big ball of trouble. This is why the judge said we had to go to Juvie for the next two years of high school to 'straighten us out'. Ha, yeah right.
