Three Years

Three Years. One-thousand-ninety-five days. Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours. And a lifetime of regret.
The nineteen-year old boy closed his eyes and sighed. Had it really been that long? That many hours? God, he had it calculated down to the second. The clock had chimed that night. Sound and clear. He knew when it happened, just a few moments, but they were moments engraved in his soul. Something he would never forget. Something he would always regret…

He opened his amber eyes and stared at the sky. It was a new moon tonight. The night was draped with clouds and the stars hidden from his sight. Completely opposite from that night. It was a full moon then and the air had been slightly chilly. He remembered vividly how the goosebumbs danced on her skin, yet unlike other nights he was no longer able to let long fingers drift across her skin bringing her back some semblance of warmth. Now he stood on a balcony with the warm breeze whipping his shirt against his torso. He couldn't be bothered to make his fingers tediously pull a button through each slit leaving the top few open, it just didn't matter.
After all this was his messed up anniversary. Three years since she had left. Three years since he failed at chasing after her.

Chestnut and Amber. Three Years. One-thousand-ninety-five days. Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours. Since they last met.
He glanced inside the room and looked at two hands. One lay a symbol that was depicted as an x, and two tall lines, whereas the other lay simply on two tall lines. Two A.M. He sighed and raked four long slender fingers and a thumb through his hair. He smiled bitterly as recalled her always saying they were golden, but to him they were just blond. She always did see the best in people. She was so innocent and pure, even after all the trials she had endured. She had matured and was no longer naïve to flaw, yet she still stayed pure and innocent. She was my Angel. My Heaven. My Love.

Slowly he pushed himself off of the cold metal railing and walked back into his room. He finally took off his shirt which was still loosely waving around. Walking to the bathroom, he turned on the tap and sprinkled droplets of ice water in his face.

It had been three years. One-thousand-ninety-five days. Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours., yet he would show the world what she meant to him…
It was time.
Bitter & Sweet
…
Simple & Extravagant
…
Biting & Soothing
…
Chocolate & Strawberry

He walked down to his kitchen with dew-like droplets still resting on his pale face. And then he pulled out what he would need. Seconds… Seconds… Seconds… glided by as the teenage boy let chocolate glide across his work surface. It was like a dance. Sliver letting chocolate shine and glow to its fullest potential. Then he let smooth fingers work with strawberries. So delicately. Strawberries so pure and innocent, yet so fragile. So easily could they be bruised and their red hue darken. Just like her. She was strong. She was delicate. She was innocent. She was pure. And he would treat them as she would have wanted. He would show their natural beauty, for nothing could compare to the two of them.

As the night slowly disintegrated. He came to a close. Bitter sweet chocolate with hints of chilly at the base, only to be smoothed out and transcend to a light flavor vanilla. This filled with a chocolate mousse and warm strawberry crème that when cut into would run onto the pristine white platter glistening with tiny crystal candies that sparkled like stars, like her eyes, in the sweet crème. This then covered with a simple black chocolate and decorated with chocolate swirls, three miniature wild strawberries and a warm strawberry syrup dribbled across.

It was his masterpiece. It was simple, yet extravagant, bitter, yet sweet, biting, yet soothing, the perfect blend of chocolate and strawberry…
It was his representation of their bond. The one thing he had left after all these years
Three Years. One-thousand-ninety-five days. Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours. And a lifetime of regret.

It had been Three Years since Amano Ichigo had left Kashino Makoto and said farewell. It had been
three years…
One-thousand-ninety-five days…
Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours…
…since she had decided that she would no longer give his family a reason to hate him.
He, from a prestigious family littered with wealth,
and she a mere girl, the girl he loved.
No longer would she create tension.
No longer would he fight for her.
No longer could they complain.
He already at the age of sweet 16
had made his impression
on world renown chocolatiers,
and she would let his family
see him for what he was worth.
She sacrificed herself,
so that he could live in peace
with his family and dream.
She always was too kind. Yet her sacrifice brought out his true potential.
His longing for her, let him create his ultimate masterpiece,
Warped with raw emotions.
Her decision at mere sweet 16
Made him realize how much she truly meant to him.
And he, Kashino Makoto, would one day find her again…
And one day she too would taste their bond.
Because, she was his Angel. Heaven. Life. Love. Soul.
Because
Three Years. One-thousand-ninety-five days. Twenty-six-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty hours.
Were nothing compared to how much time he would invest in her.
His first dream was blooming.
Now he would ensure that she would once again be at his side.
Because he could never truly live without her…
A/N: So it's been a while since I actually watched Yumeiro Patissiere, but I was watching some amvs today and thought why not. I've been wanting to write something for a while, but just haven't had the time, but it just worked out nicely now. Not only that but I haven't ever written a fic for Yumeiro Patissiere, and thought I'd contribute. I also wanted to try writing in a different style for a change. It's a little weird I admit, and is nothing like I thought it be, but oh well… also sorry if it doesn't make much sense. It's all from a different perspective so you don't get to see any of his thoughts… But yeah. I hope it makes sense. It was supposed to only make sense at the end, I hope that worked out but you never know. Well I'd love to know what you all thought of this so drop me a review! Oh and sorry it's kinda sad… hehe woops. But it still is Kashino x Ichigo…
Have a great day!
messed up my format! :( ...
Oh well... sorry if it sucks!
