Again, this isn't strictly marching band, but it's still band. And please be nice, I'm new at this :)

BAND WISDOM-

Don't be scared. Just leave each day to the fullest. Take the challenges presented to you. Like, what happens the next time you leave your bari sax on the sidewalk? What then?

This came up in the band room when we were talking about fundraising. Not everybody likes to do it, so our band teacher told us this. Also, my high school band has an odd habit of leaving our instruments in the weirdest places. Not so great for the instrument or the owner, but it makes for great stories!

In case of an earthquake, PROTECT YOUR REEDS!

Our band room is very old. The ceiling is very tall. And it is very full of heavy, sharp, pointy things and trophies. So, if there's ever and earthquake during band class, we are more or less screwed. And if we had to choose between our lives and our reeds, we choose reeds.

Why do teenagers feel the need to fill silence with noise?!

My band teacher gets frustrated easily. We get loud easily. This spewed out of my band teacher's mouth during a paticularly long and boring and loud bus ride. Sometimes people just snap. And unless we held back the giggles as this was being said, that person snapping would be us. Probably literally.

Well, I guess that's it. Let me know if you want me to do more. Thanks!
