"Going to the club, tryin' to get our cutie marks! Though it will take a while, till we find the thing that makes us special!" sang Little Mac, Cheerilee's and Big Macintosh's little colt. Its 2029, February, 2 and he was meeting his friends Laser Reef and Cookie Dough, as they do every week to try to find their cutie marks, for they are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!
The dark reddish coated colt trotted up the board-ladder thing into the pinkish-reddish tree house his Aunt Applebloom made when she was a filly, humming the playful tune to himself. Inside he saw a filly hanging upside-down from a hang branch. It was his beloved friend Cookie Dough.
"Where have you been slow poke? I've been waiting here bored out of my mind!" half spoke half yelled Cookie Dough. The yellowed eyed mare fell down form the branch hitting her head against the floor. Little Mac asked questionably "Well What about Laser? He's not here."
The filly just rolled her eyes saying in a very annoyed voice "Dude's sick and can't come to the meeting. What's your excuse?" punching Little Mac on the shoulder. "Come on Mac, we have some work to do if we ever want to get our cutie marks." She continued. Little Mac was only half listing to his friend ramble on as she does every meeting. He was thinking about Hearts and Hooves Day, wondering why every pony likes this holiday so much. What's the point of Hearts and Hooves Day if they have every other day to go out on a date or something? Thought Little Mac.
Little mac decided to go into the conversation between Cookie and herself and said "Yeah, I'm kinda hungry, wanna go to your place and have some cupcakes?" Cookie just stared at him blindly then just said "Yeah, sure." They walked out of the clubhouse and gone into town.
Trotting up to Sugercube Corner and ordering two apple cupcakes from the counter. Cookie Dough lives with her mother Pinkie Pie, her father Pokey Pierce, sister and cousin's Cotton Swirl, Pumpkin Cake, And Pound Cake. When she's not plotting different ways for her and friends to get her cutie marks, she usually helps out in the bakery. "So where do you think we can get an octopus to ride?" asked Cookie after their cupcakes have arrived. Shocked by Cookie's remark, he almost spit out the cupcake he was just eating.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN RIDIN' A OCTOPUS!?" he yelled at her. He knows she has crazy ideas, but octopi riding must cross the line. Everypony in the bakery looked at the worried colt with oddness and a hint of concern. Cookie Dough just laughed at him, spitting little pieces of apple onto the table. She said between laughs "Dude! I was just kidding! What's with you dude, you were barely listing to a word a was saying. Anything on your mind?"
Little Mac was just so angry and annoyed he her in the back of her head. Mac said "You know how I feel about octopi. They give me the creeps. It's just, I've been, wondering. What's the deal with Hearts and Ho-"He was cut off when Cookie's hoof was in front of his muzzle. She said "Mac, if your gunna ask me out I can't. You're my best friend and –"now it was Mac's turn to interrupt her. "No no no no no no no! Not that Cookie, gross! It's Aunt Applebloom; she always has mixed emotions on the holiday. What makes Hearts and Hooves Day so special? "
They sat in silence eating their cupcakes for a few minutes both trying to find something else to say. Cookie decided to say something "Mac, Dude, I think-"she was interrupted by a yell that came across the room "COOKIE! Mom wants you to clean the dishes and help me make the heart cakes for Heart Cake RIGHT NOW!" that was a dark blue unicorn which is Cookie Dough's sister. She usually runs the bakery when the cakes are out of town.
Cookie just sighed, told her sister she's coming, and just gave me a look. Not those blank stares she usually gives him, a look of concern. Little Mac just decided to go visit Laser Reef to help solve his mental dilemma.
