Various shouts and exclamations of pain rung out from Allura's headset. Red lights pulsed and alarms blared. Groaning from exertion she pulled her controls sharply to the left in hopes of out running the fighter currently on her tail. She pulled out of the maneuver with a spin before turning to fire at her enemy. The fighter exploded with a flash of light. When her pulse stopped pounding and she calmed down she notice that the other paladins had gone silent.
"Hello?" she called out, "does anyone copy? Lance? Hunk? Pidge? Keith? anybody!" she grew more frantic with each name. Static was all that could be heard.
Allura spun her lion around, searching for anything. All she could see was deep, empty space. Then she saw it.
It was so small she almost missed it, a spec in the inky infinity surrounding her. She urged her lion forward hoping to get a better view of what she was dealing with. She halted abruptly when she saw what it was, Lotor's ship.
"No, it can't be." she muttered horrorstruck.
She heard a small beep from her right side screen. Curiously she opened the transmission. Lotor's face filled her screen, her heart clenched dangerously. His voice rung out through the speakers, weak and gruff most likely from the strain of battle.
"Anybody who receives this message take it to Voltron lion pilot Allura. I-" he started coughing violently, "I am sorry, I know thats not good enough after all I have done." he laughed sardonically which faded into more coughing and wheezing. "I-If I would have been a better person, or made better choices. Maybe you wouldn't have left me, maybe we would still be together, maybe we could have been happy. But my foolish past self had to destroy all the possible happiness we could have had. I know I deserve this death. It has been long delayed and I can feel myself slipping. It won't be long now, my dear Allura, soon I will be gone from this universe. Soon I will no longer be a problem. Just another fallen foe." another fit of coughing. "I don't deserve forgiveness. I know that. But I just want to say. I love you. More than any amount of quintessential power the universe could offer. Goodbye my beautiful princess." and with that the video ended. Teardrops tracked their way down Alluras face. Squeezing her chest she sobbed out "I forgive you." then "I loved you too."
