A girl named ruby went to Colorado to visit some family over the holiday. She was from Nevada and wasn't so used to the cold. This is how it all began.

"Guys, wait up!" Ruby yelled to her siblings as they ran down the field back to the house. Ruby stopped when she felt a cold wind blow past her. She looked around and didn't see any body. She shrugged her shoulders and kept moving she was stopped when a snowball hit her back. She turned and saw a man standing on a rock in the snow.

Ruby eyed him curiously he had white hair, dazzling blue eyes, a blue sweat shirt on and brown pants. She also took notice that he had no shoes on. 'How does a man walk out here with no shoes on?' Before her question could be answered Kevin; her 17 year old boyfriend came sliding down on his sled and grabbed ruby setting her down in front of him.

Ruby laughed as she enjoyed the ride. The man glared at her boyfriend when he grabbed her and watched them go down before he disappeared into the night.

"Dinner!" one of her aunts called from the door.

"Hey, you ok?" Kevin asked as he put the sled against the wall. "You seemed kinda hypnotized out there."

Ruby frowned when she looked over at him, "I'm fine I just could've sworn I saw someone." She laughed, "Maybe it was just the snow playing tricks."

Kevin laughed, "haha, yea maybe." He grabbed her hand and led her into the house.

Later that night….

Ruby lay in her bed as she looked up at the sky from her window, 'was it all just my imagination? Who was that man?' She frowned deep in thought before she heard something on the window she looked up and saw frost forming on it. Her eyes widened as a gust of wind forced them open. Ruby got up and tried to close them but they were forced back open when the same guy from last night hovered by the window. She put her hand to her lips in shock before she moved back.

He moved into the room as he watched the girl intently.

"Who are you?" she asked him.

He smirked at her as he landed on the floor, "my name is Jack Frost."

Ruby blinked, "jack…frost?"

He nods, "yes, that is my name."

Ruby looked around, "what are you doing here?"

He looked at her confused, "I've been asking that myself; something brought me here, and now I know why."

"What do you mean?" She looked at him confused.

"Isn't it obvious, I came here in search of my one and only mate and it looks like I found her. Though she appears to be taken but that shouldn't be a problem." He grinned at her.

Ruby's eyes widened, "What? No, I can't be I love Kevin. I can't love anyone else-"

He glared at her shutting her up completely, "No, you can't love him since you're not meant to be with him don't be fooled by that boy."

Ruby arched an eyebrow, "What? Don't you dare go telling me who I can and can't be with!"

He frowned as he looked at her confused, "fine, think what you want. I won't hide forever." And just like that he disappeared into the night.

Ruby looked around confused before she went into her bed and fell asleep.
