Hi! So uh, I guess I just got ungrounded (I hope that's the right word, it's not usual that I'd get grounded.) so now here I am.
Disclaimer: I don't A:TLA
He never intended that it end up like this. He never intended to be here with her. Yet he was. Her knee's were pulled up to her chest with tears falling down her face.
He reached his hand to her shoulder, resting it there only seconds before she shrugged it off. "I'm sorry." He spoke, quiet, caring.
"Stop it Zuko."
"I'm sorry," He said again. "Is there anything I can do?"
Katara looked up, her eye's poofy and red and her face streaked with tears. "What happened to you Zuko? Three years ago you would've gone and beat up whoever made me sad just because we were friends, now you're just standing here trying console me, has being Fire Lord made you soft?"
"Do you want me to go beat up Aang?" He asked, he didn't understand what she meant about him being soft.
Katara looked back down. "No! I don't want that. I want the old Zuko back." She could only think, the old Zuko could have loved me.
"That doesn't make sense. There is no old Zuko, just me."
Her tears came faster. "I love you Zuko. I love you. Don't do this to me."
Zuko spoke softly once more. "Don't do what?"
"Letting me stay here." She sniffled, returning to resting her head on her knee's. "I love you, I love you, I love you. You're only hurting me by letting me stay, it's only making it more painful for me seeing you everyday. I know you can't love a girl from the Water Tribe… Besides, you have Mai. She's got to be the perfect Fire Lady."
Zuko said nothing, but so many thoughts were running through his mind. He couldn't believe that he was here, with Katara, he couldn't believe the words that he was hearing. He couldn't believe what he himself was saying.
Now he spoke, "You have Aang."
"No." She paused. "No, no, no. I don't have Aang. I don't have anyone. He's gone, he's left. He isn't mine."
"Well, where'd he go?"
"I don't know."
"He didn't tell you?" That would've been surprising.
"No, I didn't listen." That even more so.
"Why not?"
"I don't love him. Do you love Mai?"
Zuko looked away, she wasn't even looking at him, but he couldn't stand looking at her. "Katara, that's… complicated. It doesn't involve you." He thought quickly, changing the subject, "Do you want something to eat? Need someone to talk to you? A good friend? Toph is here. Anything?"
"I want you to love me! I want to be with me forever!" She looked up again, she looked crazy, her eye's distant.
Zuko helped her up, "Katara I'm sending you home now. Don't struggle."
She turned, pressing her lips against his quickly before he could push her off. "Goodbye Zuko." She called out to him as she was led out of the Fire Palace.
He could only think: what happened to her suddenly?
Yeah… Um… Yeah. There's nothing really to say.
Well, just kidding, review please!
