Soooooo, I decided, well, to write a Nalu one shot 'cause I wanted to try my hand!
Now you can read and tell me how sad and plot less it is. But you should understand it by the end, really.
It was three days before he began to panic. Three days before he found her letter.
I'm sorry...
Tiny words... And Natsu's heart shattered into a million pieces. Trembling, and not even knowing what he was doing, he grabbed what she had left behind and ran... And when he was alone, in the middle of a forest more dense than he... He screamed. He roared in an anguish not known to any man alive.
It took him another three days before he could even think to touch the book she had written. The novel especially dedicated to him, one she hadn't even let levy read. The one he had seen her write with such a confused myriad of emotions...
Joy, sorrow... Love.
And as he read, his heart broke a little more, disintegrating into fine molecules of dust unseen by the naked eye.
As a rule, he never cried, but... She had been the only one who could ever make him break his personal rules, the only one who could ask him to do something, and he'd do it.
And tears, hot, fresh, tears dripped down his face, his mind almost unable to hold back his scream of despair.
He couldn't take his eyes of it... The fire dragon slayer and the celestial mage... She named it after him, he realized.
And his tears began anew. He sobbed for what felt like eons, ignoring his friends and family alike...
Because he had lost the only one he could never bear to be without.
Natsu had lost Lucy.
I'm sorry... Natsu...
So, my lovely readers, thanks for reading this small story! First time I'm writing such a short one, really, but if you haven't guessed, I always wanted to find out if I could write a Lucy-is-gone kind of story. Thanks again, bye!
