Hey, this is just a small story I made up. It is kind of different so don't be too harsh on me because it's my first fan fiction! Please read and review to see if I should continue! : D
Prologue:
The soft moonlight shone through the large window and dimly lit up Lady Eva's face. She lay on her bed; comforted by the feather soft pillows she had been given.
One of the guards shifted his position from outside the door, as the sound of footsteps neared.
Lady Eva pulled herself into a more formal position and quickly smoothed down her hair. A small figure entered the room and swiftly bowed to Lady Eva.
She acknowledged him with a nod of her head and the small figure straightened up. The man had a wizened face and a tuft of white fluff for hair. But despite his appearance and gracious manner, Lady Eva could see from the slight hardness in his watery blue eyes, that he was not to be intimidated.
"Your Ladyship, there is news about your daughter." The man began; Lady Eva glanced to the right at the cot where her newly born daughter was lying, sleeping quietly. She looked back at the man, narrowing her eyes.
"It seems that there was a mistake about the exact time of the birth." He continued calmly, "She was in fact born on the 20th June instead of the 21st. Which of course, means she is not a Midsummer child.
Lady Eva felt hot anger lick her insides, and despite still being in pain, she wanted to strangle the man who had ruined her perfect planning.
The man raised one eyebrow at her struggle to compose herself. If anything, this made it even harder for her but she managed to calm down eventually.
"I see, well that is unfortunate." She smiled sweetly at the man, "Thank you for telling me. I just want to ask you one more favour, would you tell the Scribes that I have decided to call my daughter, Kira?"
The man looked at her with suspicious eyes for a moment before nodding and bowing himself out of the room. Lady Eva sighed and leant back contently against her pillows again. She smiled to herself, the specific times had been a minor setback but it didn't matter.
She clicked her fingers and one of the guards strode into the room, his shiny armour clanking loudly.
"Cadem, I want that man and all his colleagues killed." Lady Eva smiled sweetly again.
The guard kept his face expressionless.
"Of course." He said, and then marched out of the room. At the side of the room, the newborn baby, Kira, stirred in her sleep. Lady Eva smiled fondly at the child. If time couldn't stop her, what could?
