Steven and Garnet had headed back to the galaxy warp. Garnet had told Steven that she wanted to make sure Peridot didn't come back since their last meeting. Everything seemed relatively quiet and nothing seemed to be tampered with. All the warps were still rubble. Garnet had seemed to take an extreme interest with the Homeworld warp, although it was still in ruin. "Garnet? What's the matter?"
Garnet continued to stare at the Homeworld Warp. "Nothing, Steven."
"So we can go home?"
"No. You can go home. I still need to feel this out."
"What? Can't you just, you know, use your future vision?"
"No. There are too many possibilities."
Steven Sighed and sat down on some of the rubble. Ever since Steven had told the gems about the clusters at the hospital everything was different. Pearl seemed more frantic. Before, she had been teaching himself and Connie on offensive strategies. But, that all changed. She was now teaching them defensive tactics.
Amethyst was the only one who hadn't changed. Well, at least that he knew of. He did notice that she went over to see Vidalia more and more. The more Steven thought about it the more he felt he needed to talk to Amethyst. He would have to do that later.
Garnet hadn't fully recovered from the Sardonyx ordeal and now she had to deal with clusters in beach city. Steven wasn't sure how she was handling it but he was worried. She almost split the first time she saw a cluster and she did split with her feud with Pearl. There was no doubt in his head. Garnet was going to defuse.
Suddenly the ground shook violently. Steven sprung to his feet. Garnet seemed to notice as she snapped towards Steven. "Leave!"
Steven hesitated. He couldn't just leave Garnet. His eyes widened as the rubble from around the Galaxy warp started floating in the air and yellow sparks of electricity appeared near the Homeworld warp. "Garnet! What's happening!" Garnet seemed just as surprised as he was. She clenched her fists.
There was a huge flash of yellow light and Steven turned his head. He heard a thud. He looked back to see a, what he assumed to be a gem, standing at the Homeworld warp. The gem was wearing some kind of armor. It looked metallic but stretched when he moved. It was worn in two parts. A top and a bottom and was connected by a belt in the middle. The gem, about his size, looked around franticly as if lost. The gem spotted them. "You're not Homeworld!"
Garnet started walking towards the gem and aggressively summoned her weapons. The gem was taken aback and took a few steps back. "Garnet! We don't have to fight!" Steven shouted but it was too late. Garnet had rushed forward.
The gem was visibly afraid and raised an arm in defense. Garnet's gauntlet slammed into his arm. Steven's eyes widened in shock. He blocked it. Garnet threw another punch. He raised his other arm blocking the second punch. Determined, Garnet threw a series of punches all being blocked by the gem. Garnet stopped when a dull yellow light engulfed him. The gem no longer seemed afraid and stood up straight from his crouched position he had taken when Garnet attacked him. "Thanks." He then shoved his arms towards Garnet and screamed shooting the yellow energy at her. Garnet flew back and landed on her back. She didn't get up.
"Garnet!" Steven ran over to Garnet and started shaking her. "Garnet! Garnet!" Suddenly the gem rushed past him and jumped onto the warp pad. It activated and he was gone. Garnet then sat up shaking her head. She stood to her feet, expressionless. "Garnet? You okay?"
She clenched her fists. "Another gem is on earth." She turned towards Steven. "I-we failed."
