Peter took a deep breath. It's been 19 years since he's seen his old friend, and frankly, he was nervous to see her again. He peeked at the window from the side and saw someone he didn't recognize.

His friend grew up. She wasn't the small, petite, young teenage girl he once knew, but now a tall, mature, woman who was now a mother of two children took her place. Wendy Moira Angela Darling had grown up.

Peter shook his head, refusing to believe that it was her. No! It couldn't be! This was the wrong house. She was still the girl he knew. The one he loved. Just as he was about to fly away, Tink started to jingle and frantically point at Wendy.

"Shhh!" Peter hissed. He didn't want to be seen, he didn't want to face the truth. Wendy let out a gasp, and began to look around for the boy. "Peter," Tink said, "You can't run away forever. You need to face the truth." Peter sighed and nodded. Just as Wendy was about to give up, Peter revealed himself.

"Wendy?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Wendy giggled and replied, "Hello, Peter."

'Oh no,' he thought, 'it is her!'

He felt his heart break in half, his eyes began to water. She grew up. She grew up and he can never bring her back to Neverland, or tell her how he truly feels. It's too late for him. For them. They can't be anything more than what they are, friends.

Peter held back his tears and swallowed his pride. "You changed." He stated, turning away, afraid that he would start to cry. "Not really," Wendy reached out her hand and gently turned his chin towards her, "Not ever."

She smiled at him, his heart was fluttering. TinkerBell showed herself and sprinkled Pixie Dust all over her. Wendy giggled and began to float up. Her faith and trust never faded. She still believed in fairies. She still believed in him.

He forced a smile and politely bowed to her. "Madame." Wendy said nothing, but curtsied in response. Peter heard a vehicle approaching the house and decided it would be best to leave. "Goodbye, Wendy," he choked, twisting his hat tightly. 'Stay strong, Peter. It's for the best.'

"Goodbye, Peter!" Wendy grinned at him as Jane and Danny ran to the window to see Peter Pan once more. Peter flew away quickly, not being able to bare the pain of a broken heart.

He looked back to see his love once more, only to find that her husband had returned and she was already in his arms. "Come on, Tink," he said, "Let's go home."
