Okay. So I'm sitting in English class, supposed to be reading. I had finished one of the books already, and wanted to read the other at home, so I was bored. Then it hit me. I remembered something someone had said on the game Travian. That's what inspired this little thing here.
I don't own Travian, by the way. That time-consuming game belongs to someone else(or some people, I don't know).
A messenger came up to the palace, run ragged and out of breath. He had just ran a long, long way. After a few more moments of catching his breath, the messenger walked into the palace. Luckily for him, the ruler was already walking towards the door.
"Hail, Lady of these lands," the messenger greeted her with a deep bow. Her grey eyes pierced those of the messenger's, her bountiful black hair out of the way because it was pulled back in a tight ponytail. She radiated confidence wherever she went, but maybe that was just her tan, thought the messenger.
"Well? What is it you bring for me to hear, faithful messenger?" Her voice was daunting, though it held no malice in it. "I must go and speak with my master builder. Please hurry up." The messenger nodded vigorously. "Yes m-Ma'am," he stuttered. "As your neighbor, my King thought it best to inform you of an attack on his capitol." The messenger paused, then opened his mouth to say more, but he was cut off.
"Very well. We will continue this discussion when I get back. Make yourself comfortable." After she had gotten a nod from the man, she left.
Several hours later, the two were sitting in a small office. "Now. Where were we? Ah. Yes. My neighbor is under attack." The messenger nodded in confirmation. "Yes. My Lord felt he should warn you, in case things go wrong. We are attempting diplomacy with our attacker. We-" he was quickly cut off from there. "Unless Diplomacy is the name of your King's favorite catapult, I don't see how it's relevant here." She stopped for a moment, looking thoughtful. "Mine is named Edna."
The messenger's eyes bulged. He couldn't believe what he had heard. Had he heard it? "Now...you can go tell your King that he will have my support in the attack that he will be planning." The messenger swallowed, nodded, and dashed out of the palace. He headed towards his city, to inform His Majesty what the Lady had said.
I know. It's short. Really short. I thought it would be longer. It didn't quite turn out as I had expected, but I still think it's decent. Besides, it wasn't supposed to be a work of art. Just something fun for me.
Oh. And thank you to my fellow Travian member for saying that. I modified the quote a little bit, to fit the story, but it's still all yours. D
And no, people in my little FanFic are not supposed to resemble people from the game at all.
