Disclaimer: Dark Twilight Angel does not own anything in this fic except her OC, Dawn. :D
Dawn stared out the window. She couldn't believe Genesis was going to leave. They had been friends ever since they were born. They shared everything, even though Dawn didn't really like sharing.
They were best friends. They always played together. Anywhere Dawn was, Genesis was with her. Before either of them noticed, they had fallen, hard, for each other. But both of them remained mute about it, afraid that the other might not feel the same way and that it might ruin their friendship. Now, Dawn seriously contemplated admitting her feelings for Genesis. After all, he was leaving, moving to some far away land and he might never come back again.
When Dawn finally found the nerve, Genesis had already left.
Years passed…
Dawn bloomed into a beautiful young woman with many suitors who came to ask for her hand in marriage but she turned them down, still waiting for Genesis to return.
Finally one day, Genesis returned. Immediately, he was greeted by a kiss from Dawn. Sephiroth, one of the suitors, found out that Dawn only had eyes for Genesis and swore to defeat him.
One fateful day, all three of them met, including Angeal, Dawn's royal guard.
"That girl, she's mine!" Sephiroth jested.
"She's not an object to be owned." Genesis snarled.
"She is, get that into your thick head!"
"Don't you dare talk about Dawn like that!"
"I'm so scared!" Sephiroth said sarcastically.
"Yeah you better be!"
By then, Genesis and Sephiroth had already drawn out their swords and started fighting. Dawn felt helpless because she couldn't do anything to stop the fight.
"Angeal! Please stop the fight!" she finally managed to say.
"I'll try my best, my lady!" he bowed.
"Enough!" he shouted stepping in between them.
But it was too late. Sephiroth had already pushed his sword into Genesis's chest.
"That's the end!" Sephiroth said smugly as he walked away.
Tears started flowing down on Dawn's cheeks. An anguished scream escaped her lips as Genesis's eyes slid shut.
"You-you monster! You killed Genesis!"
Before she herself knew it, Dawn had picked up Genesis's discarded sword and thrust the blade into Sephiroth. His eyes widened in shock, then his lips curled into a smirk.
"It doesn't matter. I won, you're mine."
And with that, Sephiroth dropped onto the ground, dead.
Dawn's tears wouldn't stop, but there was a contented smile playing on her red lips.
"Wait for me, Gen."
