Several months have gone by where Rapunzel had returned to Corona and has been adjusting comfortably to the life she has dreamed about; away from the tower and back into the castle where she was born.
On a sunny weekend day, Rapunzel and Eugene walk through the royal garden, observing the fresh fruits and vegetables where they planned on picking for their feast later that evening. After picking their items, the two decide to sit underneath a tree to cool off. Leaning against each other, Rapunzel pulls out her handkerchief to wipe off the sweat, but also pulls out her purple, sun-symboled souvenir from the festival. This brought back the moments where it all culminated into the present.
"Remember this, Eugene?" Rapunzel asks.
"Of course, dear." Eugene replied as he brushes his fingers through her brown hair. "That was a fun time, little did I know. Actually, it may have been the best time I've had in a long time, not to finally mention the night of the lanterns." Rapunzel softens her look at Eugene after hearing him speak.
"But I can remember realizing I was the lost princess when looking at that symbol." She acknowledges. "It all added up when I returned to the tower. Knowing the truth really shocked me, but I knew what I had to do."
"I know. It was quite amazing the first time you explained it to me." Eugene replies. "But I'm glad I escaped and got back to the tower before Gothel took you away."
Unfortunately, Rapunzel's happy expression changed after remembering what happened as soon as Eugene returned to save her.
"I only wish I could've done something to prevent you from being wounded the way you were." Rapunzel expressing regret. Eugene notices her sadness.
"Sometimes, there are things we could not have prepared for. But, I was still determined to not have you being taken away from me. That is why I knew cutting your hair was the only option to get rid of Gothel for good. She had it coming."
"But, having you die in my arms…worst moment of my life." Rapunzel adds. "I knew you're the one I truly love. But, I am so thankful you were revived. From being heartbroken to pure elation and joy made my life all worth it." Then Eugene notices how her smile had returned, as she was looking at him with full of love.
Eugene had one more question for Rapunzel.
"Did I ever tell you that you are a good kisser?" Eugene replies with a smile. Rapunzel couldn't help but laugh and be slightly embarrassed. However, it made her day.
"Thank you sweetie. You're still my new dream." Rapunzel leans into Eugene for a kiss and then wrapping her arms around him and staying underneath the tree for another half-hour.
