Anyways, this just came to me in a random bout of inspiration. And hey, no more radio silence from me. This may not even make sense, but hey, I do what I want. Mr. Popper is Jane's father (remember Janie? Yeah, her), just in case you were confused.

It's been a year since Thor left and he promised to come back. Jane tries not to let it affect her, but she's just so tired. She's left her science behind, discarded her theory, and barricaded herself inside her trailer, which she no longer has the confidence to call a "temporary living situation". She feels the tears starting up again for the second time today. No job, no sense of purpose, no space-man coming back to her like he promised

So here she is, wearing sweats and an over-sized t-shirt, a half-empty container of ice-cream, with tears threatening to fall once more. Good job, Jane, you really have done it this time, she tells herself.

When her phone rings, she looks at it before scoffing and nearly ignoring it. But some part of her urges her to pick it up. So she does.

There's silence on the other line and so she takes a few seconds to steady her voice.

"Hi, Dad," she whispers.

"Hi, Janie," he says.

There's a pause.

"So, is this Cooper Keegan all over again?" He says, not unkindly.

She snorts. "No…well, kinda."

She pauses, then continues. "It's just that…he's from another…country, and he has some family issues, I guess. And he says he would come back, but he hasn't and it's been a year and my theory is just too complicated to really, properly pursue, and I don't know what to do with myself."

"Yep, Cooper Keegan all over again."

She chuckles, and he laughs softly.

"Remember what I told you all that time ago?"

"Keep moving forward," she says.

"Yeahbsolutely."

And she can't help herself but laugh at her dad's catchphrase, a silly little word made out of two little ones that brings so much comfort, and suddenly she still feels like an insecure teenager worried about if her crush would ask her to the Snowball Dance. Back when things were simpler. Mind you, there were six penguins involved as well…

"Thanks, Dad," she says, and she takes in a shuddering breath. She's not quite as teary now. "I love you."

"Love you too, angel. Can't wait to see you back in action again!"

He hung up, and Jane was once more left alone to her thoughts. Jane Foster, the Woman with a Plan. Not right now, maybe. But she would be back in the game once again soon.
