Medal of Honor for Col. Robert E. Hogan

As presented by the President of the United States

Good afternoon. We are here today to present the highest military honor to Colonel Robert E. Hogan, the Medal of Honor. His heroic actions and leadership during World War Two helped end the war in Germany. Not only did he once command the 504th Air Squadron, but primarily, he headed one of the most effective espionage/sabotage units in the heart of Germany from 1942 until the war's close. From a prison camp. During this time, several of his actions merited this medal.

Now, since 1915, the Medal of Honor has been allowed to go to officers. Thus, I am presenting Col. Hogan with it accordingly. This military award is given to those for valor above and beyond the call of duty. Allow me to repeat that: valor above and beyond the call of duty. A prisoner of war's duty is to escape at all costs. Col. Hogan exceeded this by setting up a system allowing others to escape. At times he was able to get over 100 men back to England in one year. And that's only scratching the surface of this man's achievements.

The operation he set up in LuftStalag 13, the POW camp where he was located, also functioned as an effective espionage unit. Col. Hogan was able to succeed in sending numerous plans, including the ones for the Messerschmitt 110 XL jet propulsion system, to London. He and the men under his command also provided the Allies with the Germans' new Magnetic Deviator, allowing us to study the radar-disrupting machine. Over the course of the war he also sent countless photographs, names, dates, and other information of Axis activities. That's certainly beyond the normal call of duty for a POW.

When necessary, this unit he created also performed numerous acts of sabotage. He orchestrated the destruction of the V-3 rocket, which would have surely raised more terror in England. He also was behind the destruction of the Germans' remote-control baby tank, which fortunately, after blowing up, never saw combat. And that's not to mention the numerous bridges, refineries, railroads, ammo dumps, laboratories, convoys, and other war efforts that were halted because of Col. Hogan leading his men. All these acts of valor certainly warrant the Medal of Honor.

So it is with great pride that I present Colonel Robert E. Hogan with this military award. He has performed admirably above and beyond the call of duty with countless acts of valor. His activities helped bring the Allies victory over Germany and Hitler. Without a doubt, this is truly one of America's heroes.

My first Hogan's Heroes fanfic! Okay, not quite. We had to do presentation speeches in COM 231, and I decided to give Hogan the Medal of Honor (if some of my information is inaccurate please don't flame- I'm not in the military. I'm not even an adult.

I wanted to give the whole gang the medal, but LeBeau and Newkirk aren't even in the American Army, so I just gave it to Hogan. The speech has long since past so I don't think my teacher will mind if I put it up on (you can't use it, though).

I don't own Hogan's Heroes.

But this is my speech.

I hope you enjoyed!
