It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The Hospital was vary busy. Melman & Alex were in a clinic exam. a 5-year old cub who has wax build up in her ear. Melman was using the otoscope to look in her ear. It's wax build-up all right. Were going to have to flush it out. The cubs look nervous. I-Is it going to hurt? Ask the cub. A little. It's like having water rushed in your ear after you go swimming. Melman look at Alex. Alex can you fill 60cc syringes with sterile water & get some towels. The cub look frighten. Alex went to the supply room & got 2 60cc syringe & a bottle of sterile water & some towels. Melman gave the cub a paper gown to wear. Alex got back to the room & prep the syringes & wrapped towel around the her neck & asks Alex to hold the tub against her ear. Melman pushed the syringe to her ear & water started to flood in her ear. The cubs started to cry. After the second syringe, A giant ball of wax came out of the tub & her ear was bleeding so Melman had to use the suction unit on the wall to suck blood out of her ear & exam. her ear with the otoscope. It was infected so Melman wrote up a prescription for ear drops to give to Mom.
Alex came home from work. Gia came up to Alex. Honey, There's something wrong with Kimmy. Kimmy came downstairs. Daddy, There is a red spot on my neck. Alex took his exam. light & exam the dot. That's a rash on her. Alex felt her forehead. Go upstairs. I'll call Melman.
Melman showed up with his Doctor's bag & went up to Kimmy's room & exam. her. Melman came downstair told them that Kimmy is getting the measles.
That night, Alex tucked her in & took her temperature & gave her a fever reducer to take with some water.
The next morning, Kimmy was cover with spots. Alex had to keep Kimmy isolated from the boys. Alex called Melman back to look at Kimmy. Melman exam. kimmy again. He took her temperature, Blood-pressure, Listen to her tummy with the stethoscope & felt around her tummy & ask if anything hurts. She says all over. Melman gave Alex a bottle of lotion to apply on her skin ever 3 to 5 hours. Melman looked in her throat & ears. Melman talk to Gia & Alex that she's need to stay home from school for three weeks until the infection is gone from her body & come back for a vaccination & a shot for her immune system.
The boys cam home from School. Gia told the twin that their sister is sick with the measles & should not be in contact. Alex was walking down the hallway until he herd Kimmy coughing. Alex grabbed his stethoscope & listen to her lungs. Kimmy could not stop coughing. Alex got her some water & turn her Humidifier on & applied lotion on her was on the phone with Melman. Melman said that if she still coughing in 3 days. Bring her to thee Emergancy room because she may develop pneumonia.
Three day later, Kimmy got worse. She was still coughing. Alex had to take her to the Hospital. Melman ordered a chest X-ray & a complete blood count(BCB) & a blood gas & a mucus sample. Alex applied Oxygen on her. Melman had to admit her in I.C.U. Alex had to put a tube in her to help her breathe. The spot were fading. Melman exam her while she was on life support. A catheter was in her bladder. Melman measured her urine from her urine meter.
Two weeks went by, Kimmy was being discharged. She was in A-1 health again & went back to school.
