Home for the Holidays
"How do you think your family will take the news?" The blonde clutched her boyfriend's hand tightly as they walked the short distance across the field toward The Burrow. The snow crunched under their feet as they walked - the only noise to be heard; George silently mulled over the question.
"I think they'll be happy for me, love." He smiled, squeezing her hand gently before continuing, "Granted, they might be a little sore that I never told them about us but, I know they will be happy to have you as part of the family."
"What about Percy?"
George sighed. He had intentionally avoided talk about his older brother with his girlfriend. "I'm sure he'll be upset but, he's married now. It's not like I stole you from him."
Penelope nodded, still looking worried. "I don't want to cause any problems between you and your brother."
"Everything will be fine love, I promise you." George stopped, a few feet from the door. "Percy will get over it – if he is even mad, he might take the news well. But, no matter what… nothing will change that I am proud to bring you home for Christmas. I love you." He kissed her gently, before knocking on the door.
