Finally finished this! After several weeks of procrastination and distractions here it is right on the due date XD I'm not completely pleased with it and I'm fairly certain this is the first time I've written Rossi and I've never been good at getting Hotch in character so please, bear with me if they're a bit OOC, if so then feel free to give me pointers!

Characters: Rossi and Hotch

Sentence by Seditionary

Rossi rang the doorbell for Hotch's house and waited. After waiting about five minutes, he knocked on the door. Then he knocked louder. Then he was almost banging and called out

"AARON!"

He half heard Hotch's muffled voice yelling, "Let yourself in!"

Bemused, Rossi opened the door and stepped into the house, again he could hear Hotch calling out, this time "I'm upstairs!" He headed up the staircase and quickly noticed the furniture pulled out into the hallway- A bookcase and a small bed that most certainly belonged to Jack among them. He saw an open door and walked in.

Never had he seen such a sight-his normally calm and business-like co-worker, hair sticking up at crazy angles, clothes disheveled and streaked with splashes of fire-engine red paint, climbing over a pile of fallen boxes, dripping paint brush in hand, and a look like that of a frenzied meerkat, struggling to rebuild its burrow. Hotch turned his head.

"Jack wanted his room painted red," he said,

"I can see that…." Rossi said with an amused look on his face.

"That's actually why I called you and said not to wear nice clothes," he said. The grin on Rossi's face faltered for a moment, and then he smirked

"Well played Aaron, pass a brush here,"

OoOoO

After several hours of work, the paint was all dry and the duo were moving the last of Jack's furniture back into his room, their clothes nearly covered in paint. They got cleaned up and changed and were sitting in the living room when Jack came bounding in, back from his friend's house. He ran right up to Hotch and climbed onto his lap.

"Daddy, I changed my mind. I want my blue instead of red,"

Hotch and Rossi exchanged identical looks of horror.
