No one has ever touched her like he does. All it takes for him to excite her is a single look, and it's not that she's still naive. She's been kissed before, but even that kiss did nothing to her like his hand brushing hers. He fills her with electric tingles and makes her heart beat harder and breath quicken with but just one look.
Yet she knows he's bad for her. He despises her friends and tolerates her mother little more. His eyes and touches promises her all she's ever dreamed, and yet, because he's everything about Mai that calls to her, Chloe continues to shoot him down. Yet they both know she wants more. She shoots him down every time. She can deny him a thousand times, but he's always going to keep coming back.
He hears the words she says but pushes them aside for he knows the truth. He has since the first time he held her close and they heard their hearts pounding in unison. He knows the real Chloe, the one she dares not yet release less she find herself no longer wanting the world that contains all the others she loves but holds ever less for her.
She tells him she doesn't want him, but he hears the truth in her loving heartbeat. He smells her desire for him, feels her longing in the trembles of her flesh, and sees her silent plea of "I want you" written plainly in her eyes. Alek knows the truth, and he'll keep coming back to her every time until at last her lips speak the same message as the rest of her being. When that happens, he won't leave her again. He'll stay by her side forever more, loving her as the soul mates they are.
