Hey, uh, it's been a while since I've read, seen, or written anything 'Harry Potter' so I'm sorry if it's not very....'magical'. I was inspired by the full moon on Saturday night because it was BIG that night and it reminded me of Remus. Also, this is my first Harry Potter slash story, ever, but I love this paring, so hopefully I didn't ruin it. hehheh

Marauder era. Slash. Remus/James established relationship. 6th/7th year-ish.

"Did you see the full moon Tuesday night? It was huge!" The boy said.
"My mom wouldn't let me go out to look," the girl said sadly.
"Because of werewolves?" the boy asked.
The girl sighed, "Yeah. Stupid werewolves."
"My dad says they should all be killed," the boy said, seemingly smiling at the thought.
"Good!" the girl said. "I can't wait."
....
Remus and James had been walking down one of the residential streets in Hogsmeade when the two young children had walked by.
James looked over at Remus and saw that he had ducked his head and was gnawing on his lower lip.
"Hey, don't worry about them. They're just kids," James said, trying to console his friend.
"Exactly!" Remus shouted angrily, snapping his head up to look at James. "They're just kids!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," James said, moving to stand in front of Remus, planting his hands on the shorter boy's shoulders. "First off, you might want to stop shouting unless you're ready to announce your 'furry little problem' to the world."
Remus paled and looked around quickly, but there was no one near by.
"It's alright," James said, slipping his arm around Remus' waist. James pulled him farther down the street and around the corner into a wooded area out of sight of any houses and people that were around.
"Now," James said, pulling Remus closer. "What's the matter? You've heard people say stuff like that before, and worse. You've never gotten that upset."
Remus took a shaky breath and leaned his forehead against James' shoulder, staring at the ground between their shoes.
"They were just little kids and already they're being taught to hate werewolves," he said sadly. "I know we're dangerous, but they couldn't have been more than eight years old!"
Then he pulled away roughly and turned his back to James as his eyes began to tear up, which only served to add to the frustration that caused it in the first place.
James watch for a moment as Remus' body tensed and shook. Just as he was about to move forward, Remus let out a deep growl and slammed his fist into the tree in front of him.
"Hey!" James yelled, moving quickly and grabbing Remus' arm as he pulled back for another go at the tree.
He turned Remus around and saw that he was fighting back tears. He was also gnawing on his lower lip again.
"Hey," James repeated, gently this time. He pressed his thumb against Remus' lip and dragged it down so that it came out from between the young man's teeth. "No one gets to do that but me."
As if to prove his point, James leaned forward and kissed Remus, running his teeth over his lower lip sensually.
Remus chuckled lightly as they pulled apart, the tears disappearing slowly. "I'll try to remember that."
"Now," James said, gently still. "Let me see the damage."
Remus lifted up his injured hand and placed it in James'. "Yes Doctor Potter," he teased, the memory already disappearing, like the injuries on his hand at the wave of James' wand.
Remus wrapped his arms around James tightly and James immediately returned the favor as Remus pressed his face against James' neck.
After a moment Remus mumbled something that James didn't quite catch. He laughed and pulled back slightly, "What?"
Remus smiled at James' grin. "I said, 'thanks'," he repeated.
"Oh," James said, then his grin softened, "Anytime."
….
End.
