Kaoru looked at his elder twin in confusion.

"What?" He asked, cocking his head to the side, wanting an explanation.

"You heard me. I'm. Leaving." Hikaru turned his gaze away from his brother.

"B-but, why?" Kaoru could feel tears welling up in his eyes, threatening to spill over. He just couldn't believe that his brother was doing this.

"I don't want to. I have to!" Hikaru heard the hurt in his other half's voice. He turned his face back to Kaoru, whose face was now streaming with tears.

"H-Hikaru! Don't! I don't want you to either! If you leave… What would I do? What?" Kaoru sobbed profusely, hiccupping every so often. That was enough to send Hikaru into the same, wet frenzy. He wrapped his arms around his younger brother.

"Shhhhh. Hush Kaoru. I-I'm sure I'll be back. Soon. Very soon." he cried into Kaoru's neck.

"Then why are you crying?" Kaoru demanded, pushing his brother away. "You're leaving me forever! W-well guess what? I don't CARE! GO! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!" He turned away and began to sprint. He didn't care where he ended up. As long as it was away from Hikaru.

"Kaoru! NO!" Hikaru saw the truck, right before it was too late. He ran over to his brother, who was lying in the middle of the street, broken and bleeding.

"KAORU!" He screamed, cradling his brother's head in his lap. "NO! DON'T LEAVE ME!" He leaned in a little closer.

"Hi…karu…" Kaoru took a final breath.

Hikaru wailed in grief. His other half was gone. "Kaoru… I… love you…" He leaned in the rest of the way, and kissed the bloody, still warm lips of his brother. "I didn't want this…"

Hikaru bolted up right. His face was wet, and he could still feel his brother's blood on his lips.

"Nngh. Hikaru? Why are you up?" Kaoru opened his bleary eyes and gazed up at his twin. Hikaru returned the gaze, and leaned over, hugging Kaoru tightly.

"Oof! Hikaru! Let go of me! Your squashing me!" Kaoru squeaked.

"No. I'm never letting go of you again. Never." Hikaru was crying again.

"Hikaru…" Kaoru relaxed, and returned the hug.

"I love you Kaoru…" Hikaru whispered.

"I love you too Hikaru." Kaoru smiled. They laid back down, and fell asleep in each others arms.
