* flashback *

"Do you think they like each other?"

The young woman looked towards the garden pulling her hair away from her face. It was the same thing everyday. They were so used to it that they did not even remember when that strange routine had started.

"I would not know how to answer this question of yours"

The man turned to look at her, rising a perfect and elegant eyebrow as a sign that he wanted her to continue.

"I cannot tell if they feel affection for each other, but to me they are complementary"

"Complementary" repeated the man. The shadow of a smile on his lips. "Probably it is the right word" he agreed nodding slightly.

They turned again to look at that little show which had reached its climax. The woman chuckled lightly.

"Look carefully, they are opposite yet I think they complete each other. She is the sun and he is the moon, she is the hunter and he is the prey, she is fire and he is ice"

"And she is also the only one who is able to melt it" finished the man amused "moreover, she always does it in the same way. That is why I think they might feel reciprocal love. If it was not the case, I think they would have stopped this game long ago"

"This is not the only reason, is it?" it was her turn to rise an equally elegant eyebrow.

"No" admitted him "you never miss anything, do you?"

"A woman never misses anything, especially when it comes to her brother"

"I have been watching them playing for years , and I could not help noticing that she loves to steal his hairtie. However, among all of his hairties, she steals none but the red one"

"You never miss anything, do you?" she mocked him playfully.

"A father never misses anything when it comes to his son" he smiled.

* end of flashback *

She lighted the incenses and smelled their scent for a while, before sitting in front of the picture.

"You know Sojun" she spoke lightly "it has been a hundred years since the last time I watched them play. But looking at them now, it seems not even an hour has passed" she stopped, sensing the spiritual forces in the house, and smiled when she sensed his nephew's unstable one. He was about to lose his temper. "They are the same as a hundred years ago: opposite. She is the sun and he is the moon, she is fire and he is ice, and she is still the only one able to melt that ice I now thought unbreakable".

She stopped again as she watched them flash stepping in the garden.

"But your son is no longer a child, and by their attitude I am no more able to tell who is the hunter and who is the prey".

She looked at her brother's picture in silence. She stood up and smiled when the incenses burnt completely.

"You were right, she always stole the same red hairtie. And after all these years she still wears it. You never missed anything, did you?".

Hello!

This is the first story I write in english, so, if you find any mistakes, please correct me.

The woman talking with Sojun in the story is Byakuya's aunt. I never used her name because I don't know it XD. She only appears in the Zanpakuto saga. Well, more or less, we do not see more than half of her face. If I'm not mistaken she is Kouga's wife.

Hope you liked it. Let me know.

Bya bye!
