Dreams
This used to be my childhood dream...
The best things in life are always free...
It was early in the morning. The sun rose and awoke everyone with its shine. The birds sang their usually "happy" tune . Vegeta looked outside. Damn birds . He realized he actually didn't sleep one bit, he had spent the night training, as usual. And most of the time he felt great after training, but today, he felt different... flashbacks of Kakarot and that lavender-haired kid turning Super Saiyan crossed his mind. He felt his heart like it was about to burst. But somehow he knew... he knew it was something else what was bothering him. He walked into the kitchen.
Bulma was there.
He felt his heart wanting to burst again, but this time, it was different...
Looked like she had no sleep either... she had been crying. What would she cry about? Sure she was always complaining. But Vegeta had never seen Bulma cry before...
Bulma managed a smile. "Hi Vegeta, how's the training?"
*That smile...*
Vegeta just looked at her. "What do you think?"
Bulma frowned. "Just asking! Goodness..." She proceeded to drink her coffee. Bulma looked at Vegeta in his eyes. Something's wrong with him ... Even though his eyes were usually cold and indiferent, this time they had a touch of sadness... and something else...
Vegeta looked al Bulma's eyes. Usually they were bright and shiny, but now, they had lost its shine. Still......
*Those eyes... blue eyes that burned his soul...*
Whatever he was hiding, it was wearing him down... slowly, painfully... And Vegeta was tired... tired of having nothing. His dreams had been vanished one by one... a torture that ocurred all over again. Painful memories replay in his mind day and night... Kingdom, blown away (litteraly) Become Super Saiyan... whoosh . Maybe his chance to rule he could "get over it". But becoming Super Saiyan, that was his childhood dream. And some low-class nobody had taken it away from him....
Vegeta felt his head spin. "Are you ok?" Bulma asked.
He looked at her, like trying to tell her something, but he just couldn't.
"What do \i you \i0 think?" He asked coldly, again.
"Will you stop that?!? I take out 5 minutes out of my life to ask you nicely about your health... to show I'm actually concerned , but no, I can't get a yes or no like a normal person... I ... oh ... just...forget it!!!"
Bulma left. She decided to go and work on something. She went down to her lab and try to work on a new invention, but it was useless. Flashbacks of Yamcha and that blond bimbo came to her mind. Why? Why me? Yamcha and I were so happy together... how dare someone come and steal my childhood dream?! Bulma couldn't hold herself for much longer. She found herself crying and holding back more sobs, but they just kept on coming. After some while, she found herself the sleep she didn't have in days.
********
After some hours, Bulma finally woke up. But all the stress she kept hidden was starting to take effect. As a result, she couldn't move. Not even a muscle! Panic and stress came over her. A crying attack came over her. Suddenly, she felt strong, powerful arms hold her with gentleness she would have never expected.
"Woman, will you calm down!"
"Vegeta!" She managed to say between sobs.
"Woman..."
Bulma reached to caress his face. "I dreamed of you..."
Vegeta looked surprised. "What?"
"I dreamed you were wandering in the dark... and I was lost also... and we found each other"
Vegeta was stunned. And quiet. He never expected this. And for the first time, he felt... ok... somehow, the loneliness inside him subsided for a while.
Bulma smiled softly. "Please, make the pain go away..."
Vegeta smirked. Soon, they were on their way to his room.
" I thought your smile was supposed to do that"
