Two detectives walked into a dimly lit bar. They'd decided to grab a drink after participating in a shootout and watching the car they were chasing blow up in front of them. And they had a lot to talk about.

"I still can't get over it," Fusco said. "How long have you been working with the Guy in the Suit?"

"How long have you?" Carter asked back.

"For as long as you've been looking for him."

"How did you get caught up in this mess?"

"Long story. I was really a dirty cop once, working for HR. I didn't really mean to be, I just kinda fell into it. Anyway, so one day I get orders to take out this guy who's been causing trouble. I had him locked up in the back of my car. That didn't last long. He gets the jump on me, but he lets me live. He lets me live so he can use me. And it wasn't because I was grateful; he made sure he left me no choice in the matter."

"So where are you now?" Carter asked.

He shrugged. "Him and Finch gave me a second chance at being a good cop, which is what I really wanted. To help people. That's where I am now. What about you? They made sure I got reassigned to be your partner so I could keep an eye on you, because you were looking for the Guy in the Suit. When did you switch sides?"

"About the time I got him shot by leading Snow right to him. I guess I felt bad."

"You gotta admit, they do some good things."

"Yeah. I just wish I knew how. They never told me how they know what they know. They ever tell you?"

"Not a word. You got any theories?"

"Well, however they do it gotta be illegal," she said. "I know Finch is good with computers. That probably has a lot to do with it."

"I don't know if just hacking could get them all the info they get."

She looked up at him, eyebrows raised. "Then how do you think they do it, Fusco?"

He leaned forward. "This is gonna sound crazy, but what if Finch is a psychic?"

"Psychic?" she smirked.

"Yeah. Think about it. He sees someone in a vision, and he knows they're gonna be involved with something but doesn't know what, so he sends our Guy in the Suit to track them down."

"You're right: that does sound crazy."

"You think Finch being the world's best computer hacker is a better explanation?"

"Yeah. And I'm not convinced they don't have more people working with them than what we know about."

"Think it's more than just Suit and Glasses calling the shots?"

"They didn't tell us about each other, and we work together. And there's no way they'd tell us about anyone else they're working with if they don't have to."

"If there are more people, I don't think Suit knows about them. I wouldn't put it past the professor, though."

"You think Finch would keep something like that from him?" Carter wondered.

"Yeah. If he doesn't even tell him his real name, no reason to think he'd tell him if he has more people on the payroll."

Carter looked at him curiously. "How do you know he doesn't know his real name?"

"Because he had me look into him a few months back. He had me following that guy all over the city. I tracked down some of his other aliases, but never found out his real name or where he lives. Guy in the Suit didn't have any better luck."

"Huh," she said thoughtfully. "I thought they were a lot closer than that."

"How close do you think they are?"

"I don't know, but Finch saved John's life. When I saw him come to John's rescue after he was shot...I just got the impression they were really close."

"I don't know about that, but I can tell you one thing: I'd hate to see what former Special Forces guy would be like without that geeky friend of his reining him in."

Carter raised her glass. "You and me both."
