The Love He Once Thought He Had.
"ZERO! Hurry up! Don't you see the Day Students are ahead! Come on! "
As Zero's eyes widened, and his silver hair blew in the wind, the sudden realization that Yuuki was no longer Yuuki went by through his thoughts. That defiant gaze that Yuuki had echoed around the courtyard was fake. With a rush of anger and sorrow, Zero's hands flew up and dashed across his face as he fell back onto the floor in grief.
"Zero!" "Are you ok?" shouted Yuuki running over towards Zero her brown hair curling up through the wind.
"Zero...if you need...if need 'that' we can go somewhere...really we can." whispered Yuuki moving her fingers up her iron-pressed collar and squeezed it below her soft pale cheek.
And once Zero looked up with fright and disgust, he caught the deep and melancholy gaze of poor Yuuki lingering over him, her soft hair dangling over his cheeks. The same look he couldn't bare.
"N-No..." "Stay back..." "Don't even touch me!" barked Zero slapping the back of his hand across hers, pulling his body off from the stone pavement as he stumbled slightly towards the side.
"Why...Zero you're acting strange you know." stated Yuuki poking her index finger in his ribs with a small sweat drop moving across her brow.
"Don't come to me pretending you know everything when all I see is your lies."
"Don't lie to me Yuuki!" shouted Zero from underneath his shaking breath, trying not to look back up and see Yuuki's unwavering stare again.
"I don't understand Zero...did I do something wrong?" cried Yuuki, pulling her hands over his shoulder.
"ZERO!" "Look at me!" shouted Yuuki again, her loud voice ringing across the trees of the Cross Academy.
Sweet, even the small pitch in Yuuki's soft tender voice was sweet. But. Yet. Zero couldn't bare looking out from his silver locks. The anger and regret that boiled in Zero's own blood overtook any sort of calm overview he had of the "Yuuki" he once knew. Yet, that tender gaze that flickered for him was of that same "Yuuki" he had always cared for. The Yuuki he will always knew. Perhaps, perhaps maybe it was all a lie. A lie spun by the cursed creatures he couldn't help but hate.
Yuuki...was...
BBAAA-DDUMMPPPP!
Suddenly, the ground he looked down upon was over taken by the soothing sight of Yuuki's mildly aggravated stare. The arms that wrapped around his torso, her hands that laid over his skin, and her fingers that clenched his jacket tightly became so comforting that it was almost nostalgic. Almost to the point that all he wanted to do was hold her back and fall down and forget the pain that had grown in his very soul.
No. No. No. No. Yuuki was not herself. She never was. She never will be. This is all a lie. No. Please. Why. Why? This stupid idolatry that Yuuki was good, kind, it all was a sham. Because in reality she has fangs, and her heart pertained to another. The man -the animal- that he had come to know and see so often. She was his. Like he was his.
"Please...stop...stop...STOP YUUKI!" barked Zero pushing Yuuki's embrace from his body. And as he saw Yuuki's crimson eyes blur across the air, the 'THUMP' in his chest pounded with so much might that the dream, or nightmare, that Yuuki was created from broke, and shattered before his eyes. Seeing human Yuuki's despair seep across her eyes, Zero's hands reached out for her cracking image not knowing it was to late before his nightmare swallowed him up whole, and he fell back into his old creaky room seeing the pieces of 'Yuuki' that he thought he could save fade away forever.
The Nightmare Without Yuuki.
The Year Zero Suffered Without Her.
