"Buddy no!" Surly shouted but it was too late. he raced over to his best friend and brother and carefully picked up his head. "Buddy don't do this to me. please." Surly whimpered. the rat gripped his hand lightly.
"b-bes... friend-nd. b-big... b-brother." Buddy whispered.
"yeah Buddy?" Surly ask.
"l-lo-love you-ou." Buddy smiled slightly.
"love you too little brother." Surly sniffed. he could feel the moment Buddy's life left his body and he started to sob as it started to rain. he held his little brother in the middle of the road and cried. thats how Andie, Grayson, and Precious found him.
"Surly come on you need to get out of the road." Andie said. she grabed him and Grayson reached for Buddy's body.
"no! don't take my brother!" Surly shouted jerking away from Andie and Grayson. Andie gave him a sad look.
"Surly come on we aren't going to take Buddy from you. we just need to get you out of the road before the traffic hits." Andie said. Surly scooped up his brothers broken and lifeless body and trudged out of the road his friends following slowly behind. they buried him and Andie tried as hard as she could to get Surly off the grave but she didn't want to push too hard. it took her three hours to get Surly to let Buddy's body go, and she could tell she broke his heart taking him from Surly. she told the others to leave him alone and let him be, so they did.
"I love you Buddy. your not just my best friend your my brother." Surly whispered. he fell asleep on the grave. we he awoke next morning, he brought a cloud of grey everywhere he went. Mole, Jimmy, Johnny, and Jamie had tried to talk to him but he wouldn't say anything. he started to push everyone away untill they broke him down. "go away!" Surly screamed. he ran as fast as he could to the nut shop. Lana noticed him but he was without the rat when she let him in.
"hey there little guy, where's your rat friend?" Lana ask. Surly looked like he was going to cry as he made the motion of death. "i'm sorry. what can I do to help?" Lana ask. Surly pointed to the basement door and she let him down. Andie was down there waiting for him.
"Surly." Andie said. Surly glared at her threw his tears.
"what do you want?" Surly ask looking away.
"why'd you explode on them back there?" Andie ask.
"i've lost not only the most important person in my life, but also my best friend and little brother all in the same day. what do you want from me?!" Surly exclaimed. Andie hugged him.
"i'm so sorry Surly." Andie whispered.
