It was a dark, stormy night as a young Yuki Judai woke up from his dream. He looked out the window and was shivering, "Did the storm wake you?" and strange female voice asked the young boy. Judai jumped after the woman spoke and hid under his sheets, "I wouldn't hurt you, Judai" and sat beside the bed and began to sing:
Hush , child
and return to your slumber.
I shall shield you from your somber.
So that you can sleep peacefully through the night.
I shall protect from your demons and nightmares.
Judai interupted her song and looked at the dark figure and felt her wings, "Are you an angel?" and somewhat felt familiar inside from before. The dark figure softly touched Judai's hair and spoke.
I am your guardian that sweeps through the night.
I am your angel of darkness that protects you with my might.
I am your dark lover that will not by light.
I am Yubel.
Judai gave faint smile as he slowly closed his eyes "Thank you, Yubel..." and yawned and fell asleep on Yubel's arm. Yubel smiled as she kissed Judai on the cheek and vanished into the darkness, "Good night, my dear."
The next day, Judai's father gave him an envelope, "Son, I know you love Duel Monster cards, so here's a card for you." Judai opened the envelope to find a Yubel card, "Well... Do you like it?" his father asked as Judai was staring at the card. "Yes, thank you, papa!" Judai smiled and went up to his room and looked at his card, "Yubel..." and felt warm as the dark figure warped her arms around him.
