She was beautiful, auburn hair caressing the side of her face. She was afraid to talk to strangers – her heartbeat made a quiet little pitter-patter.
I knew she was the one I wanted. And I could see that she took a fancy to me as well. I spoke to her first, and we talked for a couple of hours... the best ones are worth the wait.
She let me walk her home, and I pretended to leave when she spoke up with her squeaky voice:
"Would you like to come in, good sir?"
Just the words I wanted to hear.
