Title: What Might Have Been

Summary: She'd wonder if perhaps their relationship might have worked.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Author's Notes: A challenge set down by searching4romeo for a fic without a happy ending.

---------------------------

Sometimes she would stare out the window, thinking of what might have been, had there not been a war, had Harry not been the one who had to kill Voldemort, had he grown up with parents who loved him.

She'd wonder if perhaps their relationship might have worked. If he'd maybe believe her when she said 'I love you'. And just maybe he might have been able to say it back.

Would the angry words have stood between them then? Would she have spent more time arguing with her love than talking to him? Would she have lived more with her best friend than her lover?

Or would they have had the perfect relationship they always should have had?

Unfortunately, she'd never know, because there had been a war, Harry had been the only one who could kill Voldemort, and he hadn't grown up with parents who loved him.

So, instead of being married right now, with five or six green-eyed, red-haired children, Ginny sat by the window while the man she used to love packed up his things and left.
