A/N This just kind of popped into my head. It's not a Ginny/Teddy story. Hope you like it!

"You need to talk to him about it." Harry said to Ginny as they cleaned the dinner dishes.

"He doesn't listen to me. At least, not anymore." Ginny replied as she magically removed a crusty piece of macaroni from someones old plate. She then immerged the plate in the bubbly sink water and let it sit there to rinse. With her wand, she dried her hands and then turned to Harry.

"I'm not his mom. He's made that clear."

"He's a teenager. It's normal for them to feel like that." Harry said as he cleaned a cup out.

"But in this case, I'm not his mom. Why can't you talk to him? He likes you." Ginny said as she resumed scraping off the plates and handing them to Harry.

"Because I'm a guy and I don't understand emotions like you women do. Please just go talk to him. I'll finish the dishes." Harry negogiated.

"Fine but if you hear yelling, you'd better take my side." Ginny warned as she exited the kitchen.

She climbed up the stairs and passed Lily's room and the bathroom before she came to the room Teddy stayed in when he came over. Ginny sighed and knocked on the door. No answer came so Ginny took that as 'come in'.

Teddy was laying on his bed, tossing a basketball into the air. He didn't even acknowledge Ginny as she sat down on his desk chair.

"So, what happened?" Ginny asked in a timid voice, hoping Teddy wouldn't explode at her. Today, his hair was fiery red to match his mood. Teddy remained silent.

"Look, we're not mad at you. Trust me, I'm sure most of us would be on your side if you told me your side of the story."

Teddy still wouldn't talk. Ginny sighed and gave up. Ready to go tell Harry 'I told you so', she got up and started to walk out of his room.

Halfway out the door, Teddy talked.

"I did hex that kid. I won't deny it." Teddy started. Ginny went and sat back down.

"Why did you hex him?"

"Lily asked me to. She's like my little sister. How could I say no? So I went and found him out by the lake. I told him he shouldn't have treated Lily like that and then I sent a hex at him."

So Harry's his dad and Lily's his sister. What am I? Ginny thought but she continued to listen.

"I got detention from Professor Longbottom so I think I've been punished enough."

"I wasn't going to punish you. I just wanted to hear your side. I used to hate how my mum would never listen to me when I told on my brothers."

Teddy laughed. He actually laughed. Ginny felt relieved that he wasn't going to blow up at her.

"Now, how about you come down for some of that dinner you never ate?" Ginny asked Teddy. He nodded and they stood up together. Then he did something that surprised Ginny. He pulled her into a hug. One of the old, huge, Teddy bear hug.

"Thanks, Mum." Teddy said as he let her go. He walked downstairs and Ginny followed.

Back in the kitchen as Teddy ate his dinner, Ginny whispered to Harry, "I think we need to discuss something about our daughter..."
